Ontario has no choice but to welcome massive data centres in order to protect Canada from U.S. President Donald Trump, warns Premier Doug Ford.
In a speech Monday to delegates to the Association of Municipalities of Ontario convention in Ottawa, Ford touted his government’s plan to attract the facilities while addressing environmental and electricity concerns.
“Ontario has a choice: we can build the economy of the future and ensure Canadians’ data remains in Canada or we can get left behind and risk Canadians’ data being sent to the U.S. and into the hands of President Trump,” the premier said.
