Whiting was quoted in March 2025 when eight provinces cleared their shelves of U.S. booze. Only Alberta and Saskatchewan blinked. A year and a half on, U.S. alcohol exports to Canada have fallen off dramatically — down 81 per cent. The ban has become, improbably, something that gets under Donald Trump’s skin, from a country the U.S. supposedly needs nothing from.
