OTTAWA – Defence Minister David McGuinty has acknowledged that the procurement review of F-35 fighter jets is a “point of debate or dialog” as tense trade negotiations with the United States continue.
When asked by reporters in Ottawa on Monday about whether the F-35 decision is part of the trade war, McGuinty said that “acquisition of that size would normally be a point of debate or dialog between two sovereign nations.”
“This is not the only factor involved in a multi-party, multi-element, multi-stakeholder type of negotiation. This negotiation with the United States is extremely complex,” he added.
When Hitler invaded the Soviet Union the Wehrmacht had in use trucks from virtually every nation they had conquered.
Few were suitable for “Russian Roads” and repair was a logistical nightmare.
I fear our air force of many nations will be just like that.
