Michigan voters on Tuesday are selecting their Democratic nominee for a key Senate seat and ending a bruising race that reflected the schisms in their party as it seeks to wrest control of the chamber.
Rep. Haley Stevens, a moderate who represents a swing district, faces Abdul El-Sayed, a former public health official and favorite of progressives.
The winner will face Republican Mike Rogers, who is uncontested in his primary. The former Michigan congressman narrowly lost his first Senate bid in 2024 and collected President Donald Trump’s support this year.
