A man charged with first-degree murder in the Friday shooting of a Toronto woman was awaiting trial for an alleged intimate-partner assault against her last year.
Sharnjeet Singh, 37, of Brampton, is accused of fatally shooting Navneet Kaur, 26, in north Etobicoke on Friday.
According to court documents obtained by the Star, Singh was arrested on July 17, 2025, for allegedly assaulting and harassing Kaur by repeatedly following her from place to place.
