Police are investigating the role of a vulnerable adult’s carers in an incident in which a three-year-old boy was thrown into a zoo’s crocodile pit.
Cambridgeshire Constabulary officers are understood to be assessing the two carers’ actions after the 30-year-old man was left free to pick up the child and throw him into the enclosure.
The boy, who was rescued by a heroic zookeeper, is in a critical but stable condition in hospital. He suffered serious injuries in the fall and was attacked by at least one crocodile.
