A friend of mine has a habit of calling our Prime Minister “the man who would be king.” I politely laugh. But after recent events in Strasbourg, I think he may be on to something. Mr. Carney, who smiled alongside Ursula von der Leyen after announcing their intention to bring Canada into a special relationship with the EU, looked for all the world like “a man who would be king.” A king of clapping seals, perhaps, but a king, nevertheless.
