Jon Ronson and I were friends for 25 years. In 2008, I got him on Twitter, telling him it was a utopia where people played hashtag games and got stuck in lifts. I invited him to sit in on recordings of Father Ted, Paris and The IT Crowd. That was before the trans wars – and online life turning toxic.
