Pierre Poilievre says Mark Carney backed the wrong pipeline route. Is he right?

OTTAWA — Prime Minister Mark Carney says a new oil pipeline from Alberta to British Columbia’s southwest coast will reduce Canada’s reliance on sales to the United States and boost the country’s capacity for exports to Asia.

But Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre has warned that rejecting a pipeline route to B.C.‘s northwest coast will “simply lead tankers to take the oil south down to the California west coast.”
