The true cost of mass migration

Out-of-control immigration has left British workers facing lower wages and higher rents.

For years, the experts insisted that the laws of supply and demand do not apply, uniquely, to immigration.

Now that the taboo has lifted, the evidence is arriving thick and fast. Three studies published in the past week alone should settle the argument.

The first, from Cambridge Circus Research, uses previously unpublished HMRC payroll data to measure migration’s effect on pay. Outside London, the typical British worker reportedly earns around £1,060 a year less than they would have if migrant employment had been frozen at its 2015 level, and the loss hits hardest at the lower end of the pay scale. Little wonder that millions of Labour voters have given up on their party and turned to Reform.
