As the Canadian economy continues to sputter, continuing a trend of weak economic growth for nearly two decades, Toronto is a big part of the story. In fact, given Toronto’s size and economic weight, its performance is central to understanding Canada’s economic malaise.
It’s hard to overstate how important Toronto (technically, the Toronto Census Metropolitan Area) is to the Canadian economy.
