The US has launched fresh strikes on Iran on the eve of the midterm elections.
Donald Trump had said he may restart bombing following the Nov 3 vote but on Monday night struck Qeshm Island.
Iranian state media reported five explosions on Qeshm, a strategic target home to an underground missile site and naval base located in the northern part of the Strait of Hormuz.
