SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Gov. Gavin Newsom announced this week that California has made significant progress in reducing its homeless population, with “preliminary data from across the state showing unsheltered homelessness has declined for the second consecutive year — down nearly 13% since 2024.” That’s good news that’s bolstered by anecdotal evidence. I’ve seen fewer encampments as I drive around the state’s larger cities, although signs of the problem are still evident.
Not in Canada of course.
