Here’s What Happened When a Muslim Complained About Restaurant’s Bacon Sign

After the Sneakers Bistro restaurant in Winooski put up a sign that read, “Yield for Sneakers Bacon,” an outraged Muslim woman took to an online community forum to complain about it.

“Given the large number of Muslim families in Winooski, as well as many others who do not eat pork for a variety of reasons, it seems unnecessary for this insensitive business sign to be at the city’s main crosswalk,” the woman wrote.

Unfortunately, the restaurant’s owner basically let an acolyte of Shariah law bully him into submission, which is extraordinarily sad given that the U.S. Constitution affords him the right to display his sign.

When the owner of Sneakers Bistro heard about her complaint, he responded by taking down the sign.

Notice how he mentioned “safety” concerns.

A man who told a Muslim convert to ‘eat bacon’ has admitted a racially and religiously offensive offence in court.

Scotland. The “victim” is his stepfather. The Metro article is so badly written that I had trouble figuring out who was related how to whom, given that they are both referred to as “McAndrew” throughout the piece. I’m also not sure whether this horrific crime was committed on Facebook or Messenger, not that it matters.

(The) stepson Dean of Dundee [his name isn’t actually “Dean of Dundee”, which sounds kind of Medieval. He’s just Dean McAndrew, and he lives in Dundee. A couple of commas would have helped clarify this. – Ed] admitted using a public communications network to send grossly offensive or indecent, obscene or menacing messages with racially and religiously offensive content on December 6, and threatened him with violence. [This seems to mean that he was threatened with violence in court. – Ed.]

Depute fiscal (sic?) Jill Drummond said: ‘Mr McAndrew (Sr) is in the process of converting his religion to Islam. He has completed paperwork to change his name.

…‘At 6.49pm on December 6 (Jr) messaged witness McAndrew (Sr) “go and eat some bacon”.’

Ms Drummond also said McAndrew described the man as ‘black’ and used an obscenity.

…Sheriff Murray told him: ‘I’m going to defer sentence on you for a report from the criminal justice social work department.

‘You will have to co-operate with them in its preparation. I hear you’re a first offender but that does not stop me from thinking this is serious, from the charge and what I’ve just heard.’ (I’m just glad there’s no actual crime in Scotland so they can concentrate on this sort of thing. – Ed)

Soooo… is the stepfather black? Is it an insult to call him black if he isn’t? If he is? Is the son black? If so, is it racist for a black guy to call another black guy black? To call a white guy black, if they’re both white, or… oh, scr*w it.    h/t

UK: Two jailed for putting bacon on mosque door, “attack on England”

Kevin Crehan got a year in prison and Mark Bennett got nine months for putting bacon on a mosque door and shouting abuse at a Muslim. Bacon and a shout — how horrible! How many people were killed? How many wounded? Was it as many as were murdered by Islamic jihadists in the name of Islam and in accord with its teachings in Nice, or Orlando, or Brussels, or Paris, or San Bernardino, or Chattanooga, or in London on 7/7?

Muslims OUTRAGED At Butcher’s Sense Of Humor – Offended By THIS Sign In His Window…

I personally think this is hilarious and before you go all PC and ballistic on me… tell me how it isn’t true. Most present day terrorists are Muslim. Muslims don’t eat bacon – it is haram to them. So, ergo… if you eat bacon, you are not Muslim and therefore not an Islamic suicide bombing terrorist. Truth in advertising. A butcher put up a sign in his shop that said, “Eating two strips of Rapley’s award winning bacon for breakfast reduces your chance of being a suicide bomber by 100 percent.” Outrage ensued and he eventually apologized for the sign. Why, is beyond me.

Korean-Style Bacon Favourite Seoul Food Among Foreigners

Korean.cuisine-Samgyeopsal-01

Bacon… is there anything it can’t do?

Foreigners’ favorite Korean food is samgyeopsal or Korean-style bacon, according to a straw poll by the Seoul Metropolitan Government of 1,984 foreigners on its website and Facebook. The city on Monday said samgyeopsal received the most votes with 558.

Though Canadian and American Thanksgiving is not for sometime, Korean Thanksgiving (Chuseok) is this week-end.

Regardless of our nationalities or beliefs, let us all be thankful… for bacon.
