Trudeau says Ontario ‘shortsighted and irresponsible’ for challenging carbon tax

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says Ontario and other provinces trying to block the federal carbon tax are shortsighted and irresponsible.

Trudeau gave a speech to an environmental conference in Montreal today during which he slammed Ontario’s constitutional challenge to the federal Greenhouse Gas Pollution Pricing Act.

Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Ontario and New Brunswick are all either challenging the carbon tax in court or have signalled an intent to do so.

German Women’s Magazine Gives Tips On Treating Stab Wounds

The April edition of the women’s magazine Illu der Frau contained the article “How do I treat a stab wound?” along with an adjacent subtitle which highlights the growing problem of knife crime across the country, Tichy’s Einblick reports.

The article aims to give practical advice for those who may be victims or witness stabbing attacks saying, “Importantly, before you provide first aid, make sure the perpetrators have disappeared, your own safety is a priority.”

‘Critical Becky Studies’ Conference Comes To Toronto

You might be surprised to learn that “Becky,” an insult used to describe a basic white woman, has trickled into academia. Earlier this month, the Metro Toronto Convention Center held a symposium called “Critical Becky Studies: Critical Explorations of Gender, Race, and the Pedagogies of Whiteness,” reported Campus Reform.

What’s next? Critical cracker studies? Holistic honky analysis? Would this be acceptable for any other race? It also kind of poisons the well just a bit. Imagine purporting to give an objective presentation on Trump’s White House and the title is “Inside America’s Fascist Regime.”

Tech giants plotting to suppress ALL conservative, pro-Trump voices so they can help Democrats STEAL the 2020 election

For nearly a year leading up to the 2018 midterms, Facebook, Google, Twitter, YouTube, and other major platforms began censoring pro-Trump content from various well-trafficked conservative news sites like this one, as evidenced by substantial drops in social media referral traffic that, in many cases, served as the economic lifeline for such sites.

Before long it was discovered that the drop in traffic wasn’t due to some innocent reprogramming of search algorithms, as the tech companies claimed, but rather a concerted, sustained effort on their part to hide, “shadow ban,” and outright remove content favorable to the president and Republicans in general.

Justin Trudeau projected to be the largest debt accumulator in Canada’s history: Fraser Institute

Excluding Prime Ministers who served during a world war or a major economic downturn, Justin Trudeau is projected to go down as the biggest debt accumulating Prime Minister Canada has ever seen.

A new report from the Fraser Institute detailing federal spending by Prime Ministers shows that Justin Trudeau is projected to raise the federal debt per person by 5.6% by the end of his first term. Sir Mackenzie Bowell and Sir John Abbott are the only other Prime Ministers to have increased the federal debt without facing an economic downturn or global conflict.

Asia Is the New Ground Zero for Islamist Terror

The Easter Sunday bombings in Sri Lanka rank among the deadliest terrorist attacks in modern history, and underscore the metastasizing scourge of Islamist violence in Asia. Radical Islamic groups, some affiliated with larger extremist networks, have been quietly gaining influence in an arc of countries extending from the Maldivian to the Philippine archipelagos, and the threat they pose can no longer be ignored.

In fact, the grisly Sri Lankan bombings are a reminder that Asia – not the Middle East – is the region most afflicted by terrorist violence. Home to the vast majority of the world’s Muslims, it is also host to multiple “terrorist safe havens,” owing to the rise of grassroots radical movements and years of complacency on the part of policymakers.

ilhan omar, islam, and anti-semitism

The headlines were familiar, The New York Times setting the tone: “In Attacking Ilhan Omar, Trump Revives His Familiar Refrain Against Muslims.” According to the media pack the President is seeking to rally his base by reviving allegedly “Islamophobic” themes of his 2016 campaign. His detractors notably ignore the question what exactly is the message of the first woman to wear a hijab on the House floor, and what is she obliged to believe as a Muslim believer.

The controversy started last February when Trump reacted to Ms. Omar’s attacks on Israel, calling for her to resign. It escalated ten days ago, when he tweeted a video which quotes a speech Ms. Omar gave at an event hosted by the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), describing how after the 9-11 attacks the group “recognized that some people did something and that all of us were starting to lose access to our civil liberties.”

The progressives’ response was predictably uniform.

Crazy Sex on the Brain: Cultures that Fall into Orgiastic Sexual Obsessiveness Are Ripe for Decay

Sex, sex, sex, sex, and also sex. We live in a paradoxical culture characterized by both a profound Puritanism and a deep lasciviousness, though one may simply be the obverse of the other. Our new Puritans see sex everywhere they look and pursue it remorselessly in theory and doctrine while simultaneously igniting a vendetta against all that is normal and fruitful in the relation between men and women.

The feverish obsession with sex in all its myriad forms and embodiments, as I once wrote, has led to some very bizarre ideas and mind-numbing outcomes, of which gender (or non-biological) self-identification and gender fluidity are among the most conspicuous. The pathology, of course, doesn’t stop there.

How a convicted terrorist became a US citizen

(CNN)A one-time Islamic jihadist who spent years in an Israeli prison for attempting to bomb a bus was granted US citizenship and allowed to remain in the country for nearly a decade as federal authorities investigated his background, CNN has learned.

The case of convicted terrorist-turned-US-citizen Vallmoe Shqaire raises questions not only about how Shqaire slipped past the enhanced vetting process implemented after 9/11, but also about why US law enforcement did not act more swiftly once his deception was discovered.

Pollak: I‘m a Jew. Stop Calling Me an Antisemite

I am a Jew — an observant Jew, raised in Skokie, Illinois, a town that resisted neo-Nazi marchers and which, at the time, was home to the largest population of Holocaust survivors in the world outside Israel. Nazis murdered many of my grandfather’s relatives in Poland.

Today, former vice president Joe Biden trivialized the suffering of Jews and exploited the memory of the Holocaust for personal and political gain — and he used a lie to do it.

Sri Lanka orders ALL Catholic churches to suspend services in the wake of Easter bombings

Sri Lanka’s Catholic churches have suspended all public services over security fears, as several suspects remain unaccounted for over the Easter terror attacks.

‘On the advice of the security forces we are keeping all churches closed,’ a senior Catholic priest said.

Private services for burials will still be carried out, but no public masses are scheduled until further notice.

Pip is forlorn

So we got back from the vet. She wants us to take Pip to an ophthalmologist to have his eye looked at.

The corneal ulcer in his left eye has not responded as well as hoped to the meds and she would rather err on the side of caution given she leaves on vacation tomorrow.

Pip hates going to the vet at the best of times. Here he is at home, we bought some of the pheromone diffuser they use to calm him but he is a bit unhappy and who could blame him.

Oh well he will heal without complications, we hope at any rate. He is handling it well otherwise, appetite and behavior are normal and he does not appear to be much bothered by the eye itself. He’s not rubbing it etc. and that is good news.

Peter Shawn Taylor: The extra carbon taxes the Liberals aren’t talking much about

According to 11 out of every 10 economists, the best way to reduce carbon dioxide emissions is to implement a carbon tax. Or, if you happen to be a Liberal prime minister or MP: “putting a price on pollution.”

As has been repeatedly drilled into Canadians over the past several years, carbon taxes are supposed to be the most efficient, least costly and entirely revenue-neutral solution to fighting climate change. We know this because Ottawa tells us so. As does the self-appointed Ecofiscal Commission. And an apparently endless series of experts, self-appointed and otherwise. Got that? Carbon taxes are the best of all possible options.

The Federal Trade Commission Is Coming After Facebook to the Tune of $3-5 Billion

No matter how much Mark Zuckerberg may bluster otherwise, Facebook doesn’t care about protecting its users’ privacy. Thankfully, though, that breach of trust is going to cost the social media behemoth, and it’s going to cost them a bundle. Reporting on Facebook’s Q1 2019 earnings report, Daniel Howley of Yahoo Finance News reveals that the company is expecting to be levied a fine by the Federal Trade Commission somewhere between $3 and $5 billion.

North Korea ‘demanded $2m for care of Otto Warmbier’

North Korea reportedly billed the US $2m (£1.5m) for the medical care of comatose American student Otto Warmbier.

Warmbier was jailed in North Korea in December 2015 during an organised tour and died after being returned the US in a coma after 17 months in detention.

North Korea demanded the hospital bill be paid before Warmbier was allowed to return home, the newspaper reports.

The White House declined to comment on the report.

The ISIS mechanic: Man now living in B.C. fixed trucks for terror group. Is he complicit in war crimes?

Flying its black flags, the Islamic State group advanced across Syria and Iraq in convoys of pickups and SUVs, some mounted with heavy guns and reinforced with metal plates.

Vehicles were central to the ISIS campaign, but like any trucks, they broke down, and mechanics were needed to keep them on the road.

Mechanics like Boutros Massroua.

Yup… FRY HIM
