Indigenous Knowledge Has Been Warning Us About Climate Change For Centuries

The trouble with combating climate change, we’re often told, is that it’s hard to imagine, hard to see. The philosopher Timothy Morton calls climate change a “hyperobject”: It’s so widely distributed and conceptually sticky that we can’t really perceive it except in partial local instances. “When you feel raindrops falling on your head, you are experiencing climate, in some sense. In particular you are experiencing the climate change known as global warming,” Morton wrote in 2010. “But you are never directly experiencing global warming as such.” Humans don’t have the right sensory faculties.

South Carolina And Clemson Get Into Massive Hockey Brawl

South Carolina and Clemson let each other have it over the weekend during a club hockey game.

The two squads got into an epic brawl, and the video will have fans of hockey going wild. Everybody knows there’s nothing that gets fans of the sport going like a great brawl.

Majority Of Canadians Want SNC-Lavalin To Face Criminal Trial

Justin Trudeau’s corrupt attempts to give SNC-Lavalin a sweetheart deal by pressuring Jody Wilson-Raybould is totally offside with the views of the Canadian People.

That’s according to a new Nanos poll, first reported by CTV News and the Globe & Mail.

According to the poll, 55% say SNC-Lavalin should face a criminal trial. By contrast, 35% say they should get a remediation agreement.

Notably, the only province in which there is more support for a remediation (deferred prosecution) is in Quebec – the province in which SNC-Lavalin is headquartered. 48% of Quebec residents say they want remediation. But notably, opinion in the province is still quite split, with 41% saying SNC-Lavalin should face a criminal trial. 11% say they are unsure.

Ocasio-Cortez Says Conservatives Hate Her Because She’s ‘Pretty’

“I knew that I was not going to be liked. I’m a woman. I’m a young woman.”
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez tried to get inside the conservative psyche in an interview published Sunday.

Speaking to David Remnick, the sympathetic editor of The New Yorker, she said that her critics hate her because she’s a “pretty idiot” to them – but also because they are allegedly threatened by her power.

“I am as powerful as a man, and it drives them crazy,” said the freshman Democrat from New York.

Trudeau gov to again underspend on new military kit, threatening NATO target

The federal government will invest billions of dollars less in new military equipment than promised this year, raising concerns about the readiness of the Canadian Forces and the prospect that Canada will fall short on another NATO spending target.

The Trudeau government in 2017 released a defence policy that included dramatic increases in the amount of money to be spent on new aircraft, ships, armoured vehicles and other military equipment each year for the next two decades.

The investments are considered vital to replacing the Canadian Forces’ aging fighter jets, ships and other equipment with state-of-the-art kit.
