U.S. tracking three migrant caravans, one with 12,000 people

The U.S. government is tracking three separate migrant caravans, one of them estimated to be more than 12,000 people in size, heading north toward the U.S., a top Pentagon official said Tuesday.

Defense Undersecretary for Policy John Rood told Congress that those caravans are one reason why the presence of active-duty troops is still needed on the U.S.-Mexico border.

He also said military medical personnel are helping with the latest border problem, dealing with an increase in sick migrants showing up at the border and in need of immediate attention.

The abortion debate erupted anew this week after a video surfaced showing the Democratic sponsor of a Virginia abortion proposal acknowledging it could allow women to terminate a pregnancy up until the moment before birth, for reasons including mental health.

“First New York, and now a proposed Virginia bill that would legalize abortion up to the moment of birth,” tweeted Kentucky Republican Gov. Matt Bevin. “This is a sad commentary on the culture of death that continues to creep insidiously into the laws of our [country].”

Canadian Armed Forces seeks to remove citizenship requirement to boost diversity

The federal government is looking at boosting its army recruitment by allowing foreign nationals to join Canada’s armed forces.

Traditionally, to join the Canadian army, you would have to prove you’re a Canadian citizen.

Now, that requirement is under review.

White House Petition to Impeach Pelosi Tops 100K Signatures, Triggering Official Response

A White House website “We the People” petition declaring “IMPEACH Pelosi for treason!” has surpassed the “100,000 signatures in 30 days” requirement to trigger an official response from the White House.

The “Nancy Pelosi is a TRAITOR to the American People!” petition, created by a person identified only as “M.G.” was created on January 18, 2019. Twelve days later, as of January 30, the petition had garnered more than 130,000 signatures – enough to earn a response, the website says.

This is a serious concern. The Trudeau government is clearly using the worldwide discourse on ‘fake news’ as an excuse to impose federal government power over social media and free speech in order to improve their election prospects.

It’s anti-democratic, and it’s disturbing.
