Advancing LGBT, women’s equality key to Canada’s economic growth, Monsef says

Breaking down employment barriers for women and LGBT Canadians is going to be critical to driving Canada’s future economic prosperity, says Women and Gender Equality Minister Maryam Monsef.

The former Status of Women agency has evolved into a full-fledged department, with more funding and a broader mandate to advance LGBT rights. Monsef said that reflects an “economic imperative” to boost the participation of women and Canadians with different gender identities and sexual orientations in the workforce.

Trudeau Liberals Spending Another $114 MILLION Taxpayer Dollars On Illegal Border Crossers

Canadian taxpayers are being fleeced again.

Because the Trudeau government refuses to enforce our border laws and continue to allow illegal crossings from the United States, taxpayers are on the hook for even more money going towards the costs of illegal crossers.

The Trudeau Liberals have announced that another $114.7 million will be given to municipalities and provinces, as the cost of housing the illegal crossers adds up.

The government is calling it “federal interim lodging facilities.”

Trump Reportedly Keeps Showing White House Guests Where Bill Clinton and Monica Lewinsky Had Sex

President Donald Trump‘s tours of the White House occasionally include a stop to show off where Bill Clinton and Monica Lewinsky had sex, according to a new Washington Post report.

The Post found multiple instances of Trump — giving tours to senators, TV anchors and other guests — making various comments about the former president and his affair with Lewinsky, then a White House intern.

The president has also claimed to guests, without evidence, that his private dining room off the Oval Office was in “rough shape” with a hole in the wall when he came into the West Wing and that Obama used it to watch sports, according to two White House officials and two other people who have heard him discuss the dining room. “He just sat in here and watched basketball all day,” Trump told a recent group, before saying he upgraded Obama’s smaller TV to a sprawling, flat-screen one, the four people said.

Given the source, I suspect this is fake news. But how I wish it was true!

Reality returns to Ontario’s campuses. Cue the outrage

There is a good recipe for creating public outrage — tell citizens you’re going to introduce an elaborate new social program, bankroll the proposition with deficit spending, and then punt the inevitable tax hikes down the line into the hands of a successive government.

This is exactly what happened with the previous Liberal government’s changes to the Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP). Just before an election, in a last-ditch attempt to buy the votes of young Ontarians with their own money, the Liberals made elaborate changes to OSAP that set the program on an unsustainable track. Besides squandering any semblance of sustainability in OSAP’s outlook, the government raised student expectations to dizzying heights, promising a steady flow of fat handouts to anyone who applied to post-secondary education.
