The ultimate cost of the border mess may be Canadian prosperity
Earlier this week, the Post’s John Ivison noted that Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his government seem increasingly resigned to continued dysfunction on the U.S.-Canadian border. Canada, Ivison noted, seems to have absolutely no idea how to stem the flow of asylum seekers crossing into Canada, mostly in Quebec and Manitoba, from the United States. The tens of thousands of illegal crossings have overwhelmed the country’s ability to hold timely hearings to determine the eligibility of these individuals to remain in the country.
Canada needs a carbon tax revolt
Sheila Griffith may be my new favorite Albertan.
Who is Sheila?
Well my friends, she’s an Alberta Rancher and she is taking a stand.
Sheila is frustrated with the Liberals federally and NDP provincially for completely failing to get the “social license” required to develop a pipeline, even though a Canadian carbon tax has been put in place.
Facebook is asking people to submit their I.D.s to prove their accounts are real
If Facebook suspects your account may be fraudulent, they may lock it and say that to restore the account, you need to send them identification to verify that you are who you say you are.
But with all the recent scandals surrounding Facebook data breaches, why would the social media platform ask for something so personal as an ID?
Facebook says it would ask you to upload an id for two reasons: To confirm the account your trying to access is actually yours; or to confirm your name.
“We want the old Canada back,” say Yellow Vest protesters
Calling for stricter vetting of undocumented immigrants, a withdrawal from the United Nations, and for a defeat of the Trudeau government later this year, Yellow Vest protesters in Windsor say their movement is growing.
To a chorus of cars honking as they drove past, a small group held signs near the corner of Ouellette Ave. and Tecumseh Rd. Saturday.
Each demonstrator appears to have their own specific reason for coming out, but together there are common themes; a call for stricter vetting of undocumented migrants, Canada’s withdrawal from the United Nations and specifically the United Nations Global Migration Pact, and the ouster of the Trudeau government in this fall’s federal election.
PELOSI GIBBERISH: ‘We um — as you are aware, uh, we have — we are diligent, diligent and persistent’
Meet the person now just two heartbeats away from the presidency.
The new Speaker of the House behaved strangely again on Thursday as she suffered bouts of gibberish, brain freezes, face spasms and moments of staring off.
The People vs. Donald J. Trump
He is demonstrably unfit for office. What are we waiting for?
The unrelenting chaos that Trump creates can sometimes obscure the big picture. But the big picture is simple: The United States has never had a president as demonstrably unfit for the office as Trump. And it’s becoming clear that 2019 is likely to be dominated by a single question: What are we going to do about it?
