Ontario made the ‘right call’ in voting out Liberals, interim leader says
John Fraser, who was one of only seven Liberals to win a seat in June’s vote, told the Ontario Liberal Provincial Council that the party must acknowledge and learn from its mistakes.
“The truth is last June voters told us in pretty unequivocal terms, they’d had enough of us. That after 15 years, they wanted change,” Fraser said.
“They put us in the penalty box. Time will tell for how long. And, frankly, they made the right call.”
French village to honour little-known Canadian battalion from First World War
A tiny French village is to unveil a long overdue memorial to the men once dubbed Canada’s best kept military secret.
The first and only black battalion in Canadian military history is being honoured in the Supt, in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comte region of eastern France, on Saturday.
The No. 2 Construction Battalion, part of the Canadian Forestry Corps, fought for their right to fight for King and Country in the First World War.
Liberals offer tone-deaf response to child killer’s transfer to healing lodge
We learned this week that the woman convicted of first-degree murder in the rape and murder of eight-year-old Tori Stafford has been transferred from a federal prison to a Saskatchewan healing lodge. It was 2009 when this beautiful young child’s life was snuffed out in the most horrifying way possible. It was 2010 when Terri-Lynne McClintic was sentenced to life in prison with no chance of parole for 25 years.
Just so we’re all clear, it’s currently the year 2018 — less than 10 years after the crime was committed and less than 10 years into this sentence. This is the worst crime that exists in our justice system and it is outrageous that someone guilty of such a crime would be eligible for such accommodations so soon into what is supposed to be a life sentence.
Rodney Stafford Pens Open Letter To BM
Rodney Stafford posted the open letter to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on Facebook Friday evening, urging him “to do the right thing” after Terri-Lynne McClintic was transferred from a medium-security prison in Ontario to the Okimaw Ohci Healing Lodge.
McClintic, who was 18 years old at the time, was convicted of first-degree murder in the 2009 rape and killing of the eight-year-old Stafford and sentenced to life without parole for 25 years in 2010.
Trudeau stands alone as Canada — and the world — abandons green energy
Ontario Premier Doug Ford’s repeal of the Green Energy Act and balks by premiers of other Canadian provinces at Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s climate agenda aren’t rearguard moves by Donald Trump wannabes. They are part of a worldwide trend rejecting renewables, rejecting climate change alarmism, and embracing coal and other fossil fuels. Renewables and the high electricity rates they ushered in drove individuals into energy poverty and led industry to flee, putting the lie to the claim that wind and solar are the fuels of the future. Wind and solar, rather, have become the fossils of the energy industry; oil, gas and coal remain the fuels of the future.
