Egyptian singer is sentenced to two years in prison for racy music video after another Arab pop star is given six months for making a joke about the Nile

An Egyptian court has sentenced pop star Laila Amer to two years in jail for starring in a racy music video.

She was handed the sentence during a session at Giza misdemeanor court on Tuesday.

The offending song’s title, Bos Omak (Look At Your Mother), is a pun on the Arabic term ‘kos omak’ – a profanity that literally translates to ‘your mother’s v*****’.
