Ontario PC leadership candidate Christine Elliott says her opposition to a carbon tax is a winner — and she’s got the data to prove it.
A non-scientific online survey sent to the general PC membership list by the Elliott team saw 92% of the over 1,500 respondents oppose such a tax.
Former leader Patrick Brown shocked grassroots members at the 2016 convention by announcing his support for such a tax. The ensuing months saw turmoil within the party as members and caucus fought amongst each other. Activists opposed to the tax were pushed to the fringes of the party by key Brown operatives.
