Las Vegas Gunman Took Elaborate Steps to Hide His Tracks, New Documents Show

As he meticulously planned the Las Vegas attack, the man responsible for the worst mass shooting in modern American history took elaborate steps to stymie the inevitable law enforcement investigation, according to federal court documents unsealed on Friday.

The F.B.I. search warrants shed new light on the degree to which the gunman, Stephen Paddock, who killed 58 people and wounded more than 500 others when he opened fire on a crowd from a hotel room in October, planned the attack and prepared for the aftermath. One of the warrants described how Mr. Paddock “destroyed or tried to hide digital media devices.”

Investigators said he used anonymous communications devices, including a prepaid cellphone, to cover his tracks and employed a “level of sophistication which is commonly found in mass casualty events.”

But we still don’t have a single new photo of him, or any video from one of the most video-surveilled cities in North America.

Or releasing cc video from inside the hotel’s hallways even though the guy was supposedly working all alone, including while moving in the weapons and ammo cache.

It suggests he planned on getting away or was protecting accomplices, or someone wants us to think he planned on getting away and wasn’t a fall guy. It won’t be investigated.

he had an instrument rated pilots license so he’s capable of planning
intricate things. I just don’t buy the entire thing. the opening automatic
fire comes from an m60 machine gun I believe.

Funny how the state Alaska could be turned upside down by the MSM trying to “get” Sarah Palin on the thinnest of gossamer lies but a puzzling very dead mass murderer gets minimalist legalistic style coverage. You would almost think he used to be Hitlery’s favourite hitman or something.

    A pre-paid cellphone!

    There’s your motive right there.

      What? Was he with Rogers?

  • That headline should read:

Still not a word about ISIS’s claimed connection, or why he had Antifa propaganda in the room.

I’m inclined to believe that Paddock was dead before the bullets started flying…

So the newish info is he tried to erase his digital tracks, threw away laptop HDDs, stuff a 13 year old would know how to do to hide his browser history, and he used burner phones, again, stuff street level drug dealer wannabe lookouts know to do. And this constitutes a “level of sophistication which is commonly found in mass casualty events.” ? I watched a number of James Bond movies in my time. I must be a master spy by now . . .

This investigation is getting weirder by the day.
