Now that’s a Sh*thole!

Girls are banned from crossing a river while they are menstruating – or if it is a Tuesday – on the orders of a ‘river god’ in Ghana

Girls in Ghana have been banned from crossing a river while having their period after a command was reportedly given by the waterway’s ‘god’.

The divine order also forbids girls crossing the River Ofin in the Ashanti region of the African country on Tuesdays.

It means that half the children in the area – the Upper Denkyira East district – are likely to lose time at school as a consequence.
