British Army bans soldiers from saying Sir on the phone as it may offend the gender neutral or some such nonsense

…A soldier had complained in a letter to a military magazine that despite the Army ‘correctly’ placing importance on inclusion and gender-related issues, troops were still answering the phone with ‘Sir’.

The soldier also claimed troops feared ‘risking offence’ by greeting an officer with the word ‘Sir’ or ‘Ma’am’ when the officer could be gender neutral.

How do you expect to fight a battle with such fragile egos?

Yes. Military preparedness sure has a different meaning these days. Always be prepared to interact correctly with your gender neutral brothers . . . eh, sisters . . . eh non-binary, fluid, on a spectrum co-army persons in arms.

Dubious. Would someone in the military answer a phone assuming that the caller will always be someone of higher rank and start with an honorific, or would they just identify themselves and their unit and wait for a response?

Islamic extremists in Africa parts of Asia and the Middle East are decapitating Christians and apostates and throwing gays off rooftops and burning their enemies in cages. All the while at home people are pushing bullshit like this. Western Civilization will go the way of Ancient Rome. Lets hope for the futures sake the light of Civilization will return from the fast approaching new dark age.

Knowing soldiers as I do, from being one, I can see going forward that they will respond to orders from their platoon commander with a sharp “Yes Sir or Ma’am”, regardless the sex of the platoon commander.

If the UK did, or did not have a military, would we know the difference?
They have more radicalized Muslims than they have people in their army.

Sorry but this is no longer a military but a gong show.
