‘Meat Tax’ Proposal Highlights Why People Can’t Stand Vegans

I remember when a couple friends of mine mentioned they didn’t eat meat. I had made a suggestion for a dish to try as we checked out the menu, and they simply responded with their dietary choices. That was the entirety of that particular exchange. After all, what do I care what they eat as long as it’s not people?

However, it seems my friends are unusual in that regard. I keep hearing of vegans and vegetarians who simply can’t handle the idea that someone else makes different choices.

  • Except Avi.

    • Nothing like a good discussion on veganism.

Meat eaters hate the plant eaters.

Plant eaters hate the meat eaters.

It’s almost as bad as Muslims vs Jews. Or Jews vs Muslims.

In nature the meat eaters eat the plant eaters. So it’s a predator / prey response.

why its, its ,almost a circle of life !

    • This year, I finally became full vegan after decades of vegetarianism. I got sick of the idea of hurting animals, just for the pleasure of eating meat or fish or cheese or eggs. This is not against meat-eaters, as some of them seem to imagine, this is for the animals, just love for the animals. I don’t feel anger at meat-eaters, etc.; I know history and biology. Eating animals is – or maybe was – natural. But today, when this happens on an industrial scale, and when substitutes are easily available, each human being ought to reflect on the subject. It will take time for people to change, but it is possible and likely.

Thanks, but I’m sticking with being an omnivore.

      • I’m vegan and near 70.

The ultimate revenge – vegans don’t need viagra.

The angle will be that animals fart.

It’s not about health, it’s not about the environment, it’s about control. Backdoor cultural marxism. What the left cannot achieve at the ballot box they try to achieve through regulation and taxation.

Yep. We’ve always had these pinch faced unhappy bossy pant assholes among us. We used to tell them to fuck off. If nobody does, they get noisier.

sympathize with them as if they have an eating disorder ,which they do,point out the deleterious effects of soy consumption and the massive deforestation done to grow more soy plants, mock their virtue signaling as just a manifestation of their eating disorder. Having said all that I do respect and enjoy most all vegetarian indian food. After thousands of years they have it right. but they conquer by extraordinary taste , not preening moral righteousness.

It’s the same reason as carbon dioxide emissions have to be controlled, as when you can control them you control almost every human activity and production. If the whole world ran off thorium nuclear reactors, the leftists would demand control of thorium use too.

Bring on the post Apocolyptia. The vegans (long pig) will be easier to hunt and salughter.

From this woman’s accent she sounds Australian; if she is she needs to understand that most of the beef in Australia is grass-fed, not grain fed, so all those statistics for Europe or Canada about environmental costs of raising beef are not globally applicable. http://blog.hellocharlie.com.au/ethical-beef-grain-fed-grass-fed-and-organic/

In addition in many subsistence cultures in south east Asia (and elsewhere) the families raise pigs that are raised on family food scraps and then slaughtered. Do these families deserve death for being efficient too?

I would guess that this woman would have to at least be a member of PETA if not a card-carrying member of the extremist Animal Liberation.

Let’s put a 1000% tax on medicine too – at least all the medicine that employs animal testing. Let’s make possessing plastic a capital crime. Let’s outlaw fertilizers and pesticides. Let’s return to the 14th century. Let’s see how that works. Pretty sure the SJWs won’t thrive with subsistence farming and feudalism.

Vegans are disgusting, immoral people who go to hell when they die.

So these are new aliens we have to deal with from the Vega star system?

Humans are not meant to be purely vegetarian. Humans have both heme-iron and non-heme-iron receptors in our intestines (i.e. receptors for meat-based iron and vegetable-based iron). Heme-iron (meat iron) is MUCH easier for humans to absorb. Even vegetarians who eat well above the recommended daily allowance of iron (even with iron pill supplements) are still often anaemic because humans just don’t absorb non-heme iron very efficiently. The fact that we have heme-iron receptors *at all* says that we were meant to eat meat.

And where I live there is two feet of snow on the ground and it’s minus twenty. There will be no fresh plants to eat for months. Veganism is only possible because we can jet-freight plants around the world.
