Bishop of Liverpool demonstrates why no one listens to the Bishop of Liverpool

Evangelical Christians ‘uncritical’ in support for Trump, UK bishop says

A senior Church of England bishop has lambasted conservative evangelical Christians in the US for their “uncritical support” of Donald Trump, urging them to reflect on how their endorsement of the president relates to their faith.

Paul Bayes, the bishop of Liverpool, said “self-styled evangelicals” risked bringing the word evangelical into disrepute, and added there was no justification for Christians contradicting God’s teaching to protect the poor and the weak.

Bayes told the Guardian: “Some of the things that have been said by religious leaders seem to collude with a system that marginalises the poor, a system which builds walls instead of bridges, a system which says people on the margins of society should be excluded, a system which says we’re not welcoming people any more into our country.

“…The church’s “institutional inertia” needed to be countered, Bayes added. “There is no doubt that the church at the moment is on a journey, and that journey needs to arrive at a place of inclusion further on than we are at the moment…”

This “journey” looks familiar. Kodak, Enron, Radio Shack, Blockbuster, Polaroid… they were all on this “journey,”

It fascinates me that they arrive a place of inclusion which excludes the Bible.

Reminds me a little of Matt Lucas from Little Britain.

Bishop of Liverpool must be of the Ecumenical persuasion.

The Church of England is heretical and is as fake as Kwanzaa.
    Full stop.
No actual “evangelical Christians” (pisst.. ALL Christians are evangelical, you dope!) give a damn what he thinks any more than we care what the Unitarians or the Jehovah’s Witnesses think about anything.
They cant even get Christianity right for themselves and so they have no business telling the rest of us how it could be practiced.

I have looked inside and reflect. The voice of my concious tells me your a traitor and should be removed from office.

What do you expect from a church that has Michael Coren studying to be a minister. The Anglican Church is dying out faster than a Liberal Party promise. The only Christian churches growing are the ones he dislikes. The ones growing happen to be the ones that still believe in the Bible and are fulfilling the gospel order to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ.

The ancestral church of my family has fallen just as far as my ancestral homeland of Wales…

Don’t you love it when faggot bishops preaching warmed-over Marxism scold everyone about Christ?

  • Clausewitz

“uncritical”? By that I guess he means being screaming irrational Banshee’s in the face of all facts and logic.

One of marxists’ favs … temper tantrums.

I can hear the mass outrage of people by the Church of England bishop!

God did say to care for widows and orphans, but not through using the government. God wanted people to give charity under their own power with accountability on all sides. The main mission of Christianity is to reconcile His people to God. This walls instead of bridges reference is exceedingly disingenuous. Walls were inherent to protection in the time of Christ and while the Bible talks about building the walls, it doesn’t talk about tearing them down except in winning battles, as in Jericho.
The bishop needs to stop using God to further his politics.
