How Trump Dominated Mueller and Tricked Democrats

Consider the central puzzle to Trump’s presidency: why did his own people give NeverTrumps a special counsel?

The most common explanation is that Trump is a bumbling fool. First, he colluded with Russia. Then he appointed Sessions, not knowing that Sessions would recuse himself. Finally, he appointed Rosenstein and was blindsided by the initiation of Mueller’s probe.

The problem with this idea is that Trump has been a successful person for decades, building an empire in the cutthroat world of New York real estate.

Trump knows exactly what he’s doing. The Democrats think he’s a bumbling idiot, but he’s actually baiting them, drawing them out of the woodwork and showcasing their dirty tricks, their scheming, their fondness for breaking the law. He’s no fool. They are the fools for thinking he is one.

Trump is giving the leftists more than enough rope so they can hang themselves – all the while thinking they are right and winning.

Exactly…. he hasn’t fired Mueller because Mueller is, however unintentionally, dragging all manner of Democrat dirty tricks into the air and light. Never interrupt your enemy while he’s making a mistake!

I think the suggestion that this is a case of Trump playing 3D chess is wishful thinking. I am sure the last thing Trump wanted and needed was the appointment of a special counsel. Mueller has gone after his own son who could face legal jeopardy as does his son-in-law.

The article quotes Trump as saying a leader doesn’t have a right to be surprised but by his own admission Trump was surprised by Session’s recusal which resulted in Rosenstein being put in charge and the appointment of the special counsel. Like just about every appointment made by Trump the appointment of Rosenstein was a disaster. Rosenstein was recommended to Rince Priebus by Democrat Elijah Cummings who is one of Trump’s biggest critics.

Luckily for Trump the Inspector General has been quietly working behind the scenes for the last 12 months investigating FBI/DOJ meddling in the election and he has collected a ton a dirt some of which has been leaked out. He may well save the day for Trump.
