‘It just mowed everybody down’: Pedestrians hit by SUV in Melbourne CBD

h/t Bla Bla

Up to 19 people have been injured after pedestrians were mown down by a car near the corner of Flinders and Elizabeth streets in Melbourne’s CBD.

A white SUV showed no signs of slowing as it mowed down a number of people at the busy intersection.

Police have arrested the driver of the car. An officer at the scene has described it as a terrorist incident, but this has not been confirmed.

The pedestrians were struck in front of dozens of people as they crossed the busy intersection at the beginning of peak hour.

Are white SUVs privileged over other colours of SUVs?

I wonder if it’s another rental.

Flinders street is the most crowded inMelbourne. Beautiful place, if the Australians are going to import immigrants, hope they take in only Non Muslims.

Is it profiling-after-the-fact for “The Age” to show pictures of two bearded men of Middle Eastern appearance under arrest? Providing the public with facts will get them into trouble.

He was beaten up by ten local lads before the police got to him.

      • Ho Hum

God bless the local lads. From the video’s that I have seen of the cops they seem as useless as cops in the rest of the world (shouting at and arresting apparently white innocent bystanders).

They don’t seem to have this problem in Krakow, or Prague, for some reason.

Melbourne installs security warning system across city. [11 Dec 2017]
Police will use the speakers – to be deployed in more than 90 locations – to direct the public in an emergency. Messages would advise people on their safest movements, officials said.
“The new speaker system, as well as permanent bollards and CCTV, will provide even greater protection and warning for the community in the event of a serious incident,” said Lisa Neville, who is police minister in the state of Victoria.
There’s no mention of it being in use.

“serious incident” gee I wonder what kind of incident they could have in mind, I wonder if there could be a root cause for this type of incident…….

    • Brutally Remastered

Well, that’s all very handy. Nothing like more “security” systems! Soon every Western capital will look like Tel Aviv!

There have been fewer homicides in Israel this year than Chicago experiences in a few weeks and Israelis like it that way.

        • Brutally Remastered

Yeah, well one has to be extremely careful about what israelis enjoy. Please do enlighten us on the mayor of said city and the history of his father.

Apparently the driver “is not believed to have any terrorism links”, so it’s not terrorism.
    Right.
    Gotcha.
