“Chappaquiddick” trailer

I only wish they’d done this when the son of a bitch was still on this planet hogging carbon which could have been used for better purposes. Via Twitchy.

Nation-destroyer Kennedy enjoyed Chappaquiddick jokes.

  • Y’all stop pickin’ on Teddy he’s been sober fer almost a year.

“Nation-destroyer” is right: we had an American America before Ted Kennedy unloosed big immigration on us.

Can we talk about his letter to the Soviet Union in 1983?

He should have burned for that one alone.

I’m partial to the theory that Ted was never in the car, but had sent a drunk Mary Jo off to drive herself home. It fits the behaviour exhibited the next day. The official story doesn’t.

    • But then why on Earth wouldn’t he have said so? He could simply have claimed he thought she was sober.

      • Brett_McS

I’d imagine that there would have been plenty of witnesses to testify that she was drunk.

And that the 2 of them left together.

Where did you hear that theory?

          • Brett_McS

There was a documentary made about it. They made a good case.

        • “I, er, can’t account for, um, other people’s recollections. As far as I remember, Ms Kopechne seemed completely sober. We had a conversation that evening, in which she asked me for the loan of my car. I had always been aware of her as a fine, upstanding young lady. So I did give her the keys to my car. But maybe I, er, exercised, um, er, questionable judgment, and for that I am truly humble. My only wish is to go back to work for the people of Massachusetts and the people of America” – seems a lot more plausible than “I blanked the whole thing out. Including when I got my drunk buddies to go diving in that lake for me. Trauma, yo. Woke up in a Bed’N’Breakfast” – which was his whole defense.

Not that he needed one, being who he was. I will never understand the East Coast American love for the Kennedys (And I’m sort of from Nova Scotia, noch.) They are a vile family.

She should have never gotten into the car with him. She should have never gotten into the booth to vote for him.
