Ground force: Half of France’s military planes ‘unfit to fly’

All the ejection seats are in perfect working order however.

French warplanes and helicopters may be battling jihadists in the deserts of Africa and the Middle East, but the French Air Force on the whole is in a disastrous state, with 56 per cent of all its aircraft unfit to fly at any given moment, according to a senior minister.

“If I compare the current situation … of our planes with a car, it is as if I wanted to have a car every morning that works, I would have to own four cars,” Florence Parly, the armed forces minister, said during a visit to an air base in Evreux in Normandy.

Poor French Air Force. But hey, I know where they can pick up 30 year old F18 Hornets dirt cheap to fill in the gaps from their old tired and burnt out air frames.

That old definition goes something like:
“An aircraft basically consists of millions of microscopic cracks in its various parts seeking to eventually grow, unite, and kill its unwary pilot.”

The solution is more immigrants from N Africa. Increase the
monies paid to them .. Give them what they want..

Gee, maybe feminist Trudeau can pick them up real cheap.

So they’re like the defence forces of every western country. I had a buddy when I was posted to NDHQ in Ottawa who had been posted there to be a test pilot on the New Shipborne Helicopter project – the one we still haven’t got yet, in 1992. 25 years to try and buy a helicopter!

A deeper problem is that pilots don’t get flight time. They lose their skills and the armed forces stops recruiting and training new pilots. Them they WILL lower standards and you’ll see them picking half literate neckbeards for the job. Mohamed’s Monkey Airforce.

I don’t think their military strategy will be affected, mass surrenders don’t require an air force.

If this is the state of the EU’s power as a whole, then it is as naked as the emperor sporting his new clothes.
