Rose McGowan ripped a planned fashion statement against sexual harassment in show business as vapid and hypocritical via Twitter Saturday, naming actress Meryl Streep in the process.
McGowan, 44, called out Streep for her past work with producer Harvey Weinstein – who Streep once publicly compared to God – amid plans for the Oscar-winner and many other actresses to wear black to next month’s Golden Globes as a statement against sexual harassment and abuse in the entertainment industry.
‘Actresses, like Meryl Streep, who happily worked for The Pig Monster,’ McGowan said, referring to Weinstein, ‘are wearing black @GoldenGlobes in a silent protest. YOUR SILENCE is THE problem.’
Meryl Streep who lectures we peons at the drop of a hat on all matters because she’s all knowing and wise, not to mention morally superior, claimed she didn’t know nuttin bout no Weinsteins despite working in Hollywood for the last 30 years. Got it.
