Noam Chomsky: Antifa is a gift to the far right and US state repression

Noam Chomsky has criticised the anti-fascist movement and argues its tactics are a gift to the far right and US state repression.

The renowned academic, widely considered the founder of modern linguistics, says anti-fascists have instigated the use of violence in wholly reprehensible ways.

Gee thanks Noam, never would have figured it out without you. You’re the guy who stuck his head up Stalin’s ass for 75 years then finally popped out to tell us it doesn’t smell so good in there.

    Love the pose—
Looking serenely into the far distance of intellectual Wisdom.
    Hand cocked below the mouth.
Left thumb hooked below the lip- while the
Rest of his fingers ,get smaller and eventually disappear.
Into the realms of immortal Wisdom

In other words, leftists who baldly say they are leftists unapologetically are turning their cards too soon and that’s bad for not only the far right but the regular people who are opposed to fanatics and Nazis. Yeah we figured your objection would be about timing.

His opinion and $5 will buy you a Tim Horton’s cappuccino.

Old Lefties never die, they just drift aimlessly off into obscurity.

Looks like he was attempting to erase that Star of David on his Cheek.

  • And they got that way by reading your misleading political writings Chomsky, not by studying your writings on Linguistics. You go to any Library, including in Canada, and you will find a plethora of political books and writings by Chomsky. I’ve read plenty of his stuff, especially on Central America, and it’s pure B.S. personal opinion stuff, poorly documented (sometimes he self-plagiarizes to exaggerate the academic significance), and it’s why he was never published in any serious peer-reviewed Political Science journal.

As far as his Linguistics go, apparently he’s a veritable genius. But I studied Linguistics too (mandatory for Anthro majors), and I honestly don’t recall anything by Chomsky. He probably is in fact an authority on Linguistics, but his writings on Politics — where he is not an authority but a really good BS’er — is what proliferates.

So thanks for finally waking up to groups like Antifa, Professor Chomsky, but they come from a generation that people like you are responsible for indoctrinating.

His Linguistic work and his Political work are miles apart, although it is said in some circles, his linguistic work is also being supplanted.
Linguistically he supposedly is akin to a Sigmund Freud in psychology.

Plot twist: The left was bad from the beginning. A feeling if desperation with a touch of anger was all that was needed to make that seed sprout. And you should know….you helped sow it.

  • This is the same Noam Chomsky who didn’t think that the Khmer Rouge were so bad.

    • Uncommunist

He is an icon of leftism… bylat

    • Drunk by Noon ✓

Well, to be sure excesses were committed, but it was U.S. bombing that forced them to that level of desperation.
Yeah, that really was an argument that his acolytes made, if he himself didn’t.

      • He was just another pseudo-intellectual apologist for the Khmer Rouge. He can make whatever excuses he wants but he is a denier.

“…Chomsky, who recently left his post as Institute Professor Emeritus at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology to become a laureate professor at the University of Arizona,…”

Translation: he left one place where he had no job, to go to another place, where he has no job…

    Noam Chomsky, communist douche

But he did prove that universities are not biased and that even someone with early onset senile dementia can get tenure.

Darn-it. Saw his face before reading the headline. Thought you were going to say he died.

Hasn’t that old commie died yet?

    Chomsky, Closet Capitalist

    net worth north of $2,000,000

‘he threw the money into blue chips and invested in the TIAA-CREF
stock fund. A look at the stock fund portfolio quickly reveals that it
invests in all sorts of businesses that Chomsky says he finds abhorrent:
oil companies, military contractors, pharmaceuticals, you name it.

When I asked Chomsky about his investment portfolio he reverted to a
“what else can I do?” defense: “Should I live in a cabin in Montana?”’
