BONOKOSKI: Trudeau’s trade deal with China turns into an embarrassment

The big buildup, the anticipation and then … nothing.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau should have stayed in bed, colloquially speaking, and spared taxpayers the expense of yet another high-end jaunt to Beijing with a cadre of cabinet ministers and bureaucrats.

The Chinese played him for a fool. They were right to do so.

Didn’t vote for this idiot. Wondering if he started his crying game? He is a total disgrace and embarrassment to Canada and Canadians. It seems a whole hell of a lot of Canadians, don’t seem to know what is going on in Canada, because they still back this moron. What will it take to smarten these Canadians up? I wonder if the total destruction of our country would work?

    • ontario john

I guess the Chinese wouldn’t agree to gay pride parades.

      • clownloach

Maybe the Chinese Government do not wish do business with Dhimmi Jihad enabler nations.

      • Bless his heart

Or paying Muslims when they are offended by people complaining about whjat Muslims do.

China confiscated Korans and sent all of the imams (from an entire area?) to camps to teach them to not teach Islam. I doubt it worked, but it was to send a message.

        • Watchman

Xinjiang province in far Western China. Been there during Ramadan. Full of ethnic Uyghurs who are muslims, and the semi-autonomous province seethes with anger at the control the Chinese Han have over it. The Chinese keep a tight lid on them and station an extraordinary number of troops there to control the occasional outbreak of jihadist and separatist violence. Government officials must be clean shaved and imams must have all mosque speeches pre-approved and are chosen by the Chinese government. During Ramadan, restaurants must remain open during daytime.

It does work, and keeps Xinjiang a reasonably peaceful place despite adjoining Pakistan.

          • canminuteman

Are these guys who used to be Ghengis Khan’s people?

          • The problem is they do the same thing with Christians and Tibetan Buddhists. (Not to mention persecution of traditional Confucianists, Falun Gong, etc.).

          • Watchman

Essentially no Christians (<1%) or Buddhists there, they were taken care of by centuries of jihad against the unbelievers. The area was originally almost all Buddhist and the only undamaged Buddhist things now left were hidden from the centuries of muslim occupation by isolation or being walled of to be discovered after the Communist takeover of China.

The muslims are the real threat and the threat in this area to the Christians is islam not the state.

          • Christians have functioned underground in China for decades. Whether or not they are in that specific area I don’t know. But there’s no way you are going to see them or find them anyway unless you have the right contacts. And I’m sure other groups have learned the value of meeting clandestinely as well.

          • Watchman

Yeah, I’ve just discovered that there are possibly as many as 40% of Xinjiang’s who are Buddhist or other religions, but they obviously keep their heads down and the Chinese government doesn’t see the Buddhists as a threat to their Communist rule.

          • The certainly did in Tibet, until they replaced the traditional Dalai Lama with a Government appointee (happened rather recently).

        • WalterBannon

they will they work only if they are extermination camps

The Chinese Gay Pride parades might be the modern equivalent of the French Revolution’s Royalty Pride parades which started at the Square du Temple and ended in the Place de la Revolution where the guillotine stood.

  • ontario john

What the fascist commie Chinese didn’t buy into his whining about global warming, women’s rights, and labour standards!! I’m shocked! He didn’t even get Canadians out of jail there, like Trump did. I’m sure he will do better with NAFTA, with his demands for whiny indian issues as part of the deal. After all, so far he has only gotten a trade deal with Europe. Oh wait, Hitler Harper arranged that.

  • Drunk by Noon ✓

But Trudeau expressed all that admiration for China and he’s insulted Donald Trump at every opportunity, why won’t they like him back.
    It’s not FAIR!

Check out the comments section and you will see a textbook case of Chinese (Government) thought on this issue by one: Sean Lim · (Works at National University Hospital – NUH) who blames all this misunderstanding on anti-Chinese racism and American influence peddling and corruption in an effort to make China look bad, because you know… RACISM.

    • Clink9

He loves how their “basic” dictatorship allows them to turn their economy around on a dime.

      • Watchman

He’d love to flush Canada’s economy at the turn of a dime because he says its budget will balance itself.

        • k1962

What do you expect from someone who thinks you grow the economy from the heart out?

    • Junior is going down that same road, maybe he doesn’t realize it yet but the “soft communism” he is instituting in Canada will inevitably lead to the real deal. Because the soft version is dysfunctional, its proponents will rapidly become frustrated with it and embrace the whole enchilada.

      Anyway, that’s my prediction.

Canadians: buy some vegetable seeds and lay in a stock of Spam, guns and ammo so that when Canada turns into the inevitable Socialist paradise like every other Socialist paradise has (such as Venezuela is right now) you don’t have to eat your dogs, and you can make sure that nobody else does either.

  • favill

Has anybody opined that the Chinese have looked at Canada’s balance sheet and unlike the USA, realized that Canada cannot pay back any of its debts? Since the Chinese have gotten a foothold in Africa they have access to a slew of strategic minerals as well as oil. So, the Chinese being wise businessmen have decided not to anchor themselves with a debtor who has nothing they want…since many of their fifth columnists (under the guise of university students studying in Canada) have bought up huge amounts of prime real estate in all of Canada’s major cities.

    • ontario john

The Chinese dictator didn’t like how their investments were threatened in Rhodesia. The top general was summoned to China, where he was told to get rid of Mugabe. The fascists in charge of China, spy, steal, and intimidate anywhere in the world to get what they want. They can’t be trusted and are nobodies friend.

      • El Martyachi ✓ᴴᵉˡᶦᶜᵒᵖᵗᵉʳᶦˢᵗ

Our ruling class is unwilling to address that and their praetorian guard are incapable of it.

      • Alain

And our own government is NOT our friend either.

      • favill

Nations have no friends only interests. Canada doesn’t seem to understand that. I’m assuming it’s because for the first half of our existence, we just took on British interests…and for the second half…well let’s just say the Soviets probably guided many Liberal, New Democrat, Progressive Conservatives and federal senior civil servants in the formulation of our policies since the 1940s.

    • clownloach

I thought I saw a headline a while back that Canada has no gold in the bank and more recently a gold plated tungsten one ounce bar came out of Canadian Mint.

  • JJ Hunsecker

Why is he never in Canada?

    • ontario john

Canada is boring. Were just here to pay for his travel expenses.

  • Watchman

Justin will proclaim that Very Important alliances were built that must remain commercially-in-confidence for now, but the Canadians will soon see the benefits. Any time something good happens, Justin will take credit. Anytime something bad happens Justin will claim this was never part of the plan (but only if asked).

    • ontario john

He will fall back to its Hitler Harper’s fault.

  • The Buddhist Butterfly

But what socks was he wearing?

The AVRO Arrow-ing destruction of Canada continues with yet another Canadian government.

China still had all of the stuff out that they used for Trump, so no big deal or expense to walk through much of the drill this time.

Maybe the little dickhead can explain when he gets back, why the National Post is reporting that revisions to the Indian Act is going to cost seven times more than originally forecast. The changes are now going to cost over 400 million dollars.

  • Mr. Meow

Trudeau is a product of our democracy. He’s a drama queen, a sensitive feminist, pro baby murdering, LGBTQ affirming, environmentalist. He balls at the drop of a hat. Full waterworks in parliament when some second rate “rock stars” croaks, apologises constantly, he flits about taking selfies and flounces around in gay pride parades and he gives money to convicted terrorists. Nobody respects Canada because a man-child is in charge.

    • A Hamilton Guy

All the work Harper did to get respect back; gone for shit.

    • DMB

Except for Canada strength is a respected feature in a leader. Trump has a lot of strength therefore is shown respect by other nations such as China. Justin Trudeau is the only world leader that I know of who views the projection of weakness as an asset. A form of virtual signalling that shows a maternalistic approach to governing. Even small impoverished nations can show strength as long as they have a leader who merely projects it. Many Canadians unfortunately seem to like this form of governing considering Canada having the U.S. as its neighbor which is a superpower. Justin’s weakness is so profound that the world see’s Canada especially Justin as a laughing stock.

Who ties this guy’s shoes? When travelling abroad we used to be proud to be Canadian. Now we have to explain the actions of this little twit.

  • ntt1

We needed to send an adult, not a sniveling trust fund baby. Imagine the sheer arrogance of larding free trade talks with gender and cultural standards. he obviously has no clue what he was sent there on the taxpayer dime, to do.It was not to give SJW lectures to the Chinese . The Chinese very politely ignored him.

    • Marius K

“We needed to send an adult”

Impossible. Look at the cabinet, the moron surrounds himself with equal or greater morons. I guess , same with the negotiating team which is selected along political lines , not competence.

      • A Hamilton Guy

        Did you say Ralph Goodale?

      • Linda1000

Can you imagine what the Chinese thought of McCallum showing up with Justine (a reformed(?)drunk and a girly boy) must have had them ROTFL.

  • felis gracilis

Justin is not a free trader; he is a free loader.

    • Maybe he doesn’t realize that the Chinese have embraced capitalism — albeit a predatory brand of State-controlled capitalism (which would be deemed an illegal monopoly or rather “mafioso” in the West). Nevertheless it is still capitalism, but closer to the old Fascist-Socialist brand, than the Communist-Socialist brand.

I think it is more compatible with Liberal Party “crony capitalism” than anyone realizes right now.

  • Trudeau must have some inkling that he is a moron. If he can virtue-signal, that will stall and when the deal inevitably collapses, at least he can shrug his shoulders and say that he’s tried.

Meanwhile, China will own this country.

    I f—ing hate this man.

    • Clink9

I thought I knew all there was about hating Trudeaus until this waste of skin came along.

      • He needs a serious downfall.

        • Clink9

Like C’Mon!!!, even my uber liberal sister saw through this phony douchebag when he got in power.

          Frenths, Romanths, Countrymen!

    • k1962

There should be a club! I spend a lot of my time thinking about how much I hate him and what a total geek he is. I cringe when people say he is good looking. When someone is that dumb and girly and beta, the good looks disappear. He’s a total turn off.

      • I’d like that club to number eighty percent of the voting population.

        • El Martyachi ✓ᴴᵉˡᶦᶜᵒᵖᵗᵉʳᶦˢᵗ

I too feel that 80% of the voting population should be clubbed.

  • canminuteman

Right now, the Chinese government is negotiating to buy AECON, which is the biggest construction company in Canada, and is publicly traded. Any trade deal that would allow the Chinese government to buy Canadain companies is a really bad idea.

    • k1962

I wish the Chinese would go away. They ruined Vancouver and will ruin the rest of the country soon. Jihad Justin should be trying to get investment from somewhere else.

      • Marius K

Who in the right mind would like to invest in this hostile, overly regulated, overtaxed environment called Canada?

        • canminuteman

It’s the Chinese government. If they don’t like the rules they will ignore them with impunity or have them changed.

        • k1962

People who are very savvy and evade paying their taxes on real estate investments (profits) including many foreign investors. Canadians are naive and we are being taken advantage of. I hope the new government in BC does something to make sure that those who invest here and live here part time, pay their fair share. They like tax dollars, go after those who are profiting (and they are) but not paying.

          • El Martyachi ✓ᴴᵉˡᶦᶜᵒᵖᵗᵉʳᶦˢᵗ

The problem is if the government goes at them too hard, the investment money dries up. And, since we’re economically more of a whore than a country, that can’t happen.

          • k1962

They are investing in things that we don’t need them to invest in. We don’t need them buying vacation properties here and inflating the prices so that people who work here can’t live here. They aren’t starting businesses. That’s what we need. They are taking and not giving…taking profits, not paying taxes and using our social services, roads, schools, hospitals etc.

One of my kids found out that 1/3 of his classmates didn’t attend a particular class. The prof told him that they had other motives than getting good grades. That other motive was citizenship. Who the hell needs them? What else are they going to cheat at once they get their citizenship and bring their parents and grandparents here. I guess all can work for cash and collect welfare at the same time. And Justin wonders why his government is collecting less tax $$$$. It’s the idiot’s policies.

          • El Martyachi ✓ᴴᵉˡᶦᶜᵒᵖᵗᵉʳᶦˢᵗ

It’s not about what we need, it’s about what our rulers want. The Chinese are good for them.

          • k1962

            Pretty disappointing and disheartening.

      • El Martyachi ✓ᴴᵉˡᶦᶜᵒᵖᵗᵉʳᶦˢᵗ

He can’t afford not to have them. Because we suck, you see.

        • k1962

          He sucks. Can’t.stand.him…..

          • El Martyachi ✓ᴴᵉˡᶦᶜᵒᵖᵗᵉʳᶦˢᵗ

But the hair. It can’t be beat.
And the Chinese are into EVERY city now, big league. I’m talking even Winnipeg.

          • k1962

That’s unfortunate. Our kids won’t be able to buy homes anywhere in Canada. Foreigners fist.

  • Marius K

    Chinese have much better hairs.

    • El Martyachi ✓ᴴᵉˡᶦᶜᵒᵖᵗᵉʳᶦˢᵗ

      There’s no need for that.
