Support was highest in Quebec and lowest in Alberta.

Lord, my fellow Canadians sure are stupid.

  • robins111

Frankly I don’t believe the poll for a minute, Frank Graves is a Liberal shill,, who’s been cranking out bullshit polls for decades.

It is interesting that just a few days, before the annual blood dance in Montreal, where the celebrate the death of all the Polytechnic girls, by the son of an Algerian muslim that they’ve plunked this on Canadians, you’d almost think it was planned that way

  • ontario john

Another episode on “How Stupid Can Canadians Be”. But then this is the country that elected feminist Trudeau, simply because he looks young and cool. Yes, we must stop those damn hunters and farmers from shooting up Toronto. Nothing to do with young black men named Mohammad.

  • Blacksmith

Yeah, you do that, then the only ones with guns will be cops and criminals. Remember you will be likely safe in Tim Horton’s.

    • canminuteman

A tim Hortin’s near me closed a month ago because the cops were being called to it on average twice a day do deal with the riff raff who hang out there. One day it was operating, the next there was a fence around the building and no trace that it had ever been a Tim Horton’s.

      • Blacksmith

Wow, I was going for a tongue in cheek snarky response regarding police and Tim Horton’s. Last time I was up in Canada we went to a nearby Tim Horton’s for lunch a couple times and there were always police in there during lunch hour.

        • Watchman

Each of the police was probably there because there was other police already there to back them up in case of violence breaking out.

    • Clausewitz

The most dangerous places for law abiding people on this planet are gun free zones.

      • DMB

Chicago with its 750 annual homicide rate is a prime example.

    • Drunk by Noon ✓

There was a pornographic “web cam girl” who use to operate out of a Tim Hortons a couple of years back.
I always wondered how she pulled that off.

  • TerryA

So from what I read it was the ndp and and the libranos who were polled at least two to one with conservatives and they came up with this result. Typical for ekos.

    • Editor

Probably. Aside from a few political polls, close to election time, I have never, in my life, been polled on a social issue like this one.

      • TerryA

        No, me either.

      • Exile1981

I was polled on how good a job I felt Obama was doing for the country; this was in the leading up to the 2012 election… I live in Alberta.

  • Ed

So gun owners are a minority. That means they’re victims. And that means they’re entitled to huge deference. And Government funding. And apologies.

    • Editor

And should qualify for the court challenge program whose funding was restored by Prime Minister Super Socks:

  • canminuteman

Because taking my guns off me will stop gang bangers from killing each other. Who cares if gang bangers kill each other anyway?

    • Watchman

Because they are bad shots and sometimes miss the other bad guys and hit the innocent. The police could set up a kill house with two opposite entrances where two groups of bad guys can get it on and keep the innocent out of their firing line. It would be the gun equivalent of ‘safe injecting rooms’ for drugs.

      • A Hamilton Guy

Both sides would miss their intended target and hit somebody on the other side of town.

        • Watchman

Good ‘kill houses’ keep the bullets inside the house so that innocents outside are safe.

  • just_one_Sewer Rat_guy

The first thing I noticed, was that this is published in Hufpo. They usually have a terrible time with numbers, and/or completely fake them. The actual numbers are probably closer to 7.6% in Quebec and 4.8% in Alberta. There is absolutely no way there are 48% of Albertans who want to ban guns urban or otherwise. Unless you are polling Calgary city council.

    • Glad you noticed. If we run a HuffPo article, you can bet it’s to point out the lying lunatic left.

      • just_one_Sewer Rat_guy

Which seems to be like shooting fish in a barrel these days.

      • just_one_Sewer Rat_guy

I recall one article by them years ago about an oil spill north of Edmonton. They posted that it was something like 250,000 liters, and ‘X’ amount of barrels spilled. But when you actually did the math, as I was pointing out to my friend from Van, Huffpo added a few too many zeros on the end, and was actually about 2,500 liters spilled. Which in itself bad enough, but with them stating the number 100 x higher than what it really was, the damage had been done to oil companies already.
Actually, I’m not even sure why Huffpo is considered a news outlet anyway, when all it is, is a hub for bloggers to post their unverified stories.

        • robins111

I worked with a trucker who hauled out of the open pit. He broke a hydraulic line on the dump box and spilled about 200 litres into the oil sands, they taped the spot off, which was easy because the stakes just slid onto the oil saturated soil. A environmental investigation followed about an oil spill into the oil saturated oil sands.

    • Watchman

As with any poll, you have to have someone impartial set up the poll and carefully build the question to avoid biased results. The Albertan poll might have been along the lines of, “Do you support the banning of guns that are used by crazed psychopathic gun owners to kill innocent young children and pet animals in urban areas?” I can see 48% of Albertans saying ‘Yes’ to that question.

  • El Martyachi ✓ᴴᵉˡᶦᶜᵒᵖᵗᵉʳᶦˢᵗ

I support an oxygen ban in urban areas.

  • Gary

David Miller banned guns in Toronto and now we are seeing a record high in Homicides which Mayor Tory won’t denounce because of the pattern for the victims and suspects. The Mayor now wants me to feel god that we are still safer than Chicago that had over 500 a years and now 2017 looks like 700+ homicides.

    • ontario john

Tory is too busy today, announcing ten million dollars for additional homeless shelter beds for drunks and drug addicts.

      • Gary

More CUPE jobs means more votes.

    • DMB

By 2020 Chicago will reach the 1000 homicide mark in one year.

  • Old Guy

    When will Canadians wake up?

This is just another hit piece by the Liberal friendly media.

    • ontario john

      That is a colonial attitude.

      • just_one_Sewer Rat_guy

Not to mention that implying that Canadians are asleep, is misogynistic, homophobic, islamophobic, and white supremacy.

        • ontario john

And don’t forget the ongoing genocide of indians.

      • Clausewitz

All truth is a colonial attitude.

  • Clink9

Because it’s worked out really neat in Washington and Chicago.

  • robins111

This kind of bullshit is consistent with Frank Graves. A few years ago he was given the raw data on the firearms owners so they could do a survey on the gun laws. Included was owners name, firearms types adresses etc. Essentially all the info in the Long Gun and Restricted Registry.

In fact it was a shopping list for criminals. It was the greatest example of privacy invasion ever done by the RCMP and the
Lib/media alliance. Of course after they were challenged in court the victims were told. Its all legal.

Shortly after that, the Ottawa Citizen started bragging about having a copy of the ‘Long Gun Registry’

  • Linda1000
    • Exile1981

Sadly my whole collection of firearms was lost during a tragic boating trip.

      • Linda1000

        Lol

  • MS-13
  • That’s nice.

Is everyone willing to address drug or organised crime in big cities?

    No?

So much for gun control then.
