Harvey Weinstein had ‘secret hitlist’ of film industry figures to keep sex scandal from going public

The Observer says it obtained access to the list, which contains the names of almost 100 actors, publicists, producers, and former Weinstein Co. employees, whom he appeared to identify as part of a strategy to prevent his accusers from going public.

This sounds like a victims list.

The Clintons keep a list of enemies too.

I mean, seriously, he had to do what he did. Hundreds of gorgeous wymmn throwing themselves at him, and if he didn’t fuck them, the entire blogosphere would have gone crazy! (Sexist, misogynist, etc you get my drift…)

Harvey should have been applauded rather than castigated.

So, either Weinstein was super paranoid, or, there might be almost 100 people who knew enough about Weinstein’s behaviour and predilections to be a danger to him. If someone had no proof and makes an criminal accusation, Weinstein had enough money to sue that person. That Weinstein is a public figure makes it harder to sue, but often the threat of a very expensive lawsuits would frighten someone who makes unsupported accusations based on what a friend or a friend claimed.

I’m hoping that Weinstein was super paranoid, because the alternative is that many people were actively protecting Weinstein, or were so intimidated they chose not to accuse Weinstein.
