Toronto: Muslim worker dies when hijab gets stuck in conveyor belt

If they didn’t allow the hijabi to work on the line they would have been sued and wrongly called Islamophobic. Now, rather than banning the hijab and other head coverings near this type of machinery, the government will further burden employers and fine them.

Quebec protects its Muslim citizens against this danger.

  • Liberal Progressive

There needs to be government laws put in place to ensure that all conveyor belt systems and all other machinery are all hijab, niqab and burka safe. Not to do so is Islamophobic!

Well of course, and due to all that re-investment in engineering, the cost of products should necessarily sky-rocket. Another wonderful cost of Muhammadism.

Watch out world! Since “diversity is strength” we’ll soon be a superpower! Except that we’re planning to replace farmers with goat herders so the rest of world better get started on growing their own food.

Remember, the Romans established agriculture in the north of Africa. The Muhammadans denuded it all.

      • Observer

Just wait until the government allows them to open up goat sex bars for those who are tired of their wives. 🙂

      • A Hamilton Guy

They were too busy screwing the goats, instead of farming.

To prevent massive re-engineering on the production floor, it sounds like a perfect job for devout adherents of the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster, their colanders on their heads being an ideal practical solution to loose capita clothing. Their only vulnerability is likely to be them working as electricians unless they use plastic colanders instead of the standard stainless steel ones.

Of course that wouldn’t work as the company would be sued for religious discrimination.

    • A Hamilton Guy

Just take the damed thing off stupid.

      • Yo Mama

If u sees how ugly they is u can sees why theys husbands make them keep covered up!

  • WalterBannon

Its always nice to hear a good news story like this

As for that douche Justice of the Peace Rhonda Roffey, her sentence should be appealed since it orders the company to violate the muslim’s religious rights

  • BillyHW

How stupid do you have to be to hire muslims?

  • simus1

Many Toronto industrial bakeries seem to operate almost exclusively at times with casuals hailing from the tropics. Back in the day it was Tamils who fled from Sri Lanka during its civil war. Suppose one attraction is the hot workplace because trying to get used to our cold climate can be a slow unpleasant process for those from places with two seasons, wet and hot or dry and hot.

    Now THAT’S comedy

The family will probably sue the Trudeau government for ten million dollars.

    • just_one_Sewer Rat_guy

And receive 50 million, as that would be a “bargain”.

  • Starlord

Well the red star yesterday on the website (Main page) had a huge article about a Muslim dating site for multiple wives…. So if you have few and you lose one to a piece of machinery… well login and get another one. Thanks Red Star!!!!

  • marty_p

The Toronto Star (and Crescent) had a big expose about temporary workers and poor safety conditions at Fiera Foods.

$10 says tomorrow’s paper will have an article claiming the fine was a result of the Star’s investigative journalism and that employers have to make certain employees chosen religious garb is accommodated in a safe manner.

    • Observer

And don’t forget about government mandated prayer spaces on site and paid prayer times!

    • ontario john

I’m waiting the Toronto Star to blame the Jews.

      • just_one_Sewer Rat_guy

No, no… It’s white supremacy these days. Blaming the Jews is so last week. (Unless you live in the ME, then it’s ok)

        • JohnfromToronto

Actually they did blame the Jews last week in the Star when they tried to explain away Muslim anti-Semitism.

          • just_one_Sewer Rat_guy

Really? Lol. The asshats will never learn. I don’t go to the red star. My hazmat suit is still being repaired.

  • Hard Little Machine

And in other good news stories – a 7.3 earthquake hit the border of Iran and Iraq today. A Zionist earthquake no doubt.

Inshallah! (‘As Allah wills it to be’)

  • moraywatson

One of the disadvantages of being a muslima is that your hijab, the projection of your supremacist ideology, gets caught in moving machinery and strangles you to death. Forced payment from your employer, further to your demise, is a Charter compliant plan to compensate for your disadvantaged status. All heil PET.

Women know their place in islam where Jihad gets them to paradise and when the men force them to dress in a way that can get them killed…..they embrace it because it furthers allah cause to spread sharia and grow the Caliphate.

No matter how many times I here how brave sikh’s are in battle with the turban , that’s great if they fight among other sihk’s that don’t wear helmets. But i don’t want to rely on the soldiers around me as the bullets are flying when a few have a cloth around their head to stop the bullets .

  • Literally Hitler

Tragic. Too bad she didn’t fall into an upolstery machine. She’d be full recovered.

    • Watchman

She could then say, “Sofa, so good”, but that would be just a padded stitch-up of the truth.

  • Editor

We need a government sponsored diverse, intersectional, multicultural, multifaith design commitee to come up with a hijab that will meet both the requirements of sharia and occupational safety laws. Shouldn’t take more than 3 or 4 years and cost 10-12 million dollars tops. It’s the least us bigots can do.

  • Watchman

So as an employer, you are in a quandary:
    – You can’t make the machinery 100% safe since there is always moving machinery that could catch on the women’s religious clothing,
    – You have a number of muslim women who you can’t put on the production line because of the danger, and you can’t sack them otherwise they will own the business after legal action, so…

The only way out is that women in hijab/niqab/burka are employed in an affirmative action style in management and kept in offices away from dangerous moving equipment. Once all of them learn how to speak, read and write English, and obtain the minimum requisite math skills (because if they come from devout homes they will only be schooled to a certain point) they’ll one day be an asset to the company…maybe.

Another reason for businesses to leave Kathleen Wynne’s Ontario.

  • A preventable incident.

Serves her right for wearing the benighted thing.
