Israel warns jihadists that they are ‘playing with fire’ if they retaliate for tunnel destruction

Israel has issued a rare public warning to Islamic Jihad that it will be “playing with fire” if it retaliates for the destruction of a tunnel which killed 14 of its members two weeks ago.

An Arabic video was posted by the army’s coordinator of government activities in the territories, Maj. Gen. Yoav Mordechai, containing a direct and blunt warning to the jihadists, the Israeli paper Haaretz reported.

“We’re aware of the plot that Palestinian Islamic Jihad is concocting against Israel,” the video said.

Israel must stand strong against Islamic militants considering that Islamists prey on their enemies weaknesses. Any attack they make on Israel then Israel should retaliate with at least twice as much fire power.

I would settle for decisive force.

One for Ask the Imam: Do jihadies go to paradise if they are buried in a collapsed tunnel? The Koran is unclear on this point.

    • Watchman

Muslim dead have to be buried before sunset. I guess this would count, especially since they were undertaking jihad against the Jews at the time and this apparently obviates the usual need to was a body before burial.

Thank you Imam. I was just asking for a friend.

        • Watchman

          You’re welcome. Kuffar Akbar!

      They all go to Hell.
Whether above or below ground level.

from the picture, that tunnel has to be at least 50 Ft down that is hard to guard against I wonder if the Israellis have thought about Fracking? Inject water into a bore hole under extreme pulsed pressure and any voids should be flooded or collapsed immediately. Place pressurized bore holes at intervals . drill to 100 feet or more manifold them and pressurize them. any tunneling with in meters of the holes will be sought out by the pressurized water. boom.

It is apparently much more difficult to detect a tunnel than just using the land equivalent of using sonar (active or passive) for submarine detection. The ground is not as uniform as the water and messes with the signals. On the other hand the Israelis have indeed developed new technology that makes it possible. Probably a form of advanced signal processing.

The UN is going to disapprove of these aggressive tactics. .

    • Watchman

Given the UNs attitude in general towards Israel, I think Israel is not going to be concerned that their standing is the UN is going to drop any further regardless of what Israel does or does not do.

I wonder what Justin will contrive as Canada’s response.

      • Shebel

Kinda difficult to get a minus rating.

    • Nermal

Especially as there are schools and hospitals in those tunnels.

    Is that all sand?
