Consider livestock emissions at climate change talks, say activists

Delegates attending the World Climate Change Conference in Bonn this month are being asked to consider the contribution that livestock make to greenhouse gas emissions (GHG). As they digest food, livestock emit methane gases contribute an estimated 15 per cent of GHG into the atmosphere. This does not include emissions caused by their manure or production of their feed.

Pigs are next and you know why.

  • Since when is methane a “greenhouse gas emission”? And since when is the “greenhouse effect” a bad effect in the first place? These people are mixing and matching all over the place, the language and the categories they invent have no relation to any of the biological processes they pretend to represent.

    I dunno. School me folks.

They just don’t want you eating meat, something humans have been eating for a million years or more. Remember the leftist and islamic supremacists know what’s best for you and your family in all matters, including dietary.

Methane is actually a way stronger greenhouse gas than CO2, but I say we can use some global warming here in Canada.

  • terrence22

If these bozos wanted to reduce their OWN “greenhouse gas emissions” they should immediately STOP EXHALING (Exhaled air has 4% CO2, while inhaled air has 0.04%, with an approximate difference of 4%.).

The volumes of methane released from cattle still doesn’t compare to what is realeased by natural forces like volcanism.
This is PETa types trying to tie in and hitch their existing beliefs with the “global warming” scare.
    It’s all lies.

As I Liberal I am extremely offended by that obscure implicit reference you put at the end of your except, in regards to Kathleen Wynne.

    • But surely you admit that the pic is an excellent portrait of her addressing Parliament.

      • David Murrell

You and Liberal are making cows the butt of your jokes. The same criticism applies to Cat’s posted pic.

        • T’was I, Catman’s out tonight.

I have to joke; the steaks are so high in this issue.

    • Sorry. I’ll keep that in mind. 😉

Will this mean every time we eat meat and kill one of these farting beasts we can get a carbon credit? Or a tax break?

Or will these modern day puritans merely continue to lecture us on our evil ways?

    I’ll wager the latter.

  • Allan

Yeah. So do termites according to some sources. 5 to 15%

As they digest food, Marxist Vegans emit methane gases

round up all Marxist Vegans and euthanize them to save the planet

You’r right! They have shit for brains.

They’ll have to pry my prime rib from my cold dead hands.

Well the poor Greenies are discovering that the CO2=temp connection is just a little more complicated than they thought….so, cows. What could be complicated about cow farts? If cows keep farting we’re all going to die. Thank you.

I remember a couple of guys lighting their farts one time when I was about 14. I didn’t think it would work but they got serious Flames to happen. The things you laff at at that age. Okay, I confess, I’m laffing now at the memory.
