The small village of Très-Saint-Redempteur, Que., near the Ontario border, is known for its towering historical Catholic church — and now, for being home to Canada’s first openly transgender mayor.

    The new mayor has moved up the ladder this election from her previous village councilor position. No mention whatsoever as to what previous formal work experience or talents any of the new team might possess beyond long terrm badgering of the former mayor about being too secretive.
