BONOKOSKI: On our 11th hour of the 11th day, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will likely be asleep

One should not visit the sins of the father upon the son, but Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is now off to Vietnam, flying there in the slipstream of U.S. President Donald Trump’s own trip.

This means Trudeau will not be at the War Memorial in Ottawa on Saturday, or placing a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, when our world stops for a few brief moments on Remembrance Day to honour the sacrifices made by past and present generations to ensure the freedoms we enjoy today.

But he’ll be wearing Star Wars socks to honour all the rebel soldiers who died fighting the Empire.

    • He will likely try to see his buddy Kim Jong Un.

More likely he’ll be wearing islamic socks, and mourning his fallen ISIS buddies.

    Frankly, good.

That strikes me as Ill-thought-out scheduling.

    • His mind is ill.

      • terrence22

I am not that he HAS a mind – he functions via emotions

        • ntt1

well yeah, thats the feminist in him doing all the thinking

    • Linda1000

      That’s a very subdued comment.

Is it possibly the opposite? We know that the muslims don’t like (at the least) the idea of Remembrance Day, and progressives in general see it as something to toss aside as it is a reminder of our “white colonial” (blah blah blah) past. And so they dislike it too. Hence Trudeau avoids offending these wonderful folk by unfortunately not being able to attend.

      • Could be. I seem to recall one of our recent Remembrance ceremonies being disrupted by Muslim and Lefty protestors. Not to mention the recent Islamic terrorist attack on our war memorial in Ottawa where one of the guards was killed, followed by the armed attack on Parliament.

        • DVult

Anybody caught disrupting the remembrance day ceremonies should be beaten then sent to jail for 30 days or more.

          • Shebel

            That is true.
Our Boys are not allowed to kill anymore.

    • And the irony is thick. I’ll bet Trudeau Junior doesn’t know the secret — that a number of Canadians fought and died in the Viet Nam war. That’s right folks, and there’s actually a group of Canadian Viet Nam vets here that will probably be quietly remembering along with the rest of our vets on 11/11.

Although Canada did not officially participate in the Viet Nam war (guess who was P.M. at the time — it was Trudeau Senior!) hence they have never been officially recognized, nevertheless we sent trainers and a number of Canadians volunteered for the U.S. and fought alongside Americans in combat in Viet Nam.

Heck, of my four French-Canadian uncles who fought in WWII, one of them went to the U.S. and joined the U.S. Marines and fought alongside the Yanks. But I’ll bet Trudeau would consider him a “traitor” or something, much less French-Canadian.

You can run Mr. Trudeau, but you cannot hide — the place you are running to on 11/11 has Canadian blood in its soil. Will you remember them?

        That is what I heard.
I also heard that there were more Canadians fighting for America in Vietnam than there were American draft dodgers that fled to Canada.
        Thanks Canada!

Ken Burns Vietnam documentary had a short comment on it
          approx 30,000

        • Shebel

I remember when these draft dodger cowards came to Canada from the USA. They expected everyone to love them.
          I didn’t. Most people did.

  • Linda1000

What a disgusting little twerp we have for a no show PM. What is so urgent in Vietnam or wherever else he might plop down on his likely unnecessary jaunt. Maybe it’s better he doesn’t disgrace the ceremonies anyway.

If everyone wishes hard enough at the same time perhaps Trudeau’s plane will go down in flames over the pacific…

The grand mufti/muktar of Ottawa/Papineau imam justin( the true mahdi) is not really wanted at the National War Memorial. The Unknown Soldier has been through enough without being prevailed upon by this bum-dartist stooge.

May all the ghosts of the men and women who were used by the elite to fight this war, haunt Justin the feckless wastrel.
