Government prefab homes unsuitable and ‘force them to live a certain way,’ urban planner says.

Good, let them actually live by the standards that they claim to uphold.
In six months they will be praying for a “single wide” with a working heater.

    • Clink9

I’m hoping the little pets move out of mommy and daddy’s house and get a job.

      • Drunk by Noon ✓

        Baby steps!

      • Raymond Hietapakka

There’s more fucking freedom now in Russia for people who live in the Taiga up there, than us MNR/MNDM-suffering saps over here, and since Putin’s slacked off on gun laws, I might just pack up and f*** off over there…I shit you not.

        • disqusW6sf

I was thinking of learning Polish or Estonian and moving. Ha!

          • Raymond Hietapakka

They got all pissed off at the MNDM when I said that they get all uptight just because some amethyst miner made a nickel…

      • Surele Surele

        why would they?

        • Clink9

They’re having a great time snowmobiling and sniffing gas!

    • Raymond Hietapakka

Not really….a lot of whitey-think is f***ed in the reality of “the Bush”…I always wanted to bet some sap $1,000 over how far I could travel thru the bush, off -road, on my hind legs….lol…

    • Putting them in northern ghettos forces them to live a certain way but what do I know?

  • Dana Garcia

My aunt in Oklahoma lived in a house that had been built by an Indian. Every room except the bathroom had a door to the outside.

    • Linda1000

Strange, I wonder why? Maybe outdoor plumbing was just easier to use and Oklahoma isn’t really a freezing climate.

      • Raymond Hietapakka

I’m a Finnlander. I think we’re all stupid goofs for having a “shit-room” in the home, to stink up the whole f***ing house. It’s a concession we need to make living in this society of rats, steaming away in 40-story pigeon coops…When I win the big lotto, I’m building a police-proof castle at the Badger Mine, with an OUTDOOR SHITTER…f*** the city…

        • Tooth&Claw

That’s all well and good providing you don’t run into digestive difficulties, and like flies around. The Irish used to have all their biffys just outside in a concrete block annex.

          • Raymond Hietapakka

Whitey McCracker is as dumb as raccoon szhiddt, when it comes to the Environment, trust me…

          • Tooth&Claw

I don’t trust anyone that says ” Trust me”.

          • Raymond Hietapakka

            well..die then…

          • Tooth&Claw

We all die. Some sooner than others.

        • Clink9

Move to Brampton or India to have all the outdoor shitting you can handle!

          • Raymond Hietapakka

            Pass.

          • Clink9

Can’t take the shit, get outta the Brampton.

        • Raymond Hietapakka

..a shitter right next to your kitchen, now ….isn’t that just f***ing great?

          • mobuyus

In some cultures that shitter is the sink.

        • Surele Surele

You build it, we’ll come. As long as the out building is not to far from the living space. And heated in winter. Had some fun running to an outhouse back in the day, while on rural vacation still back in Poland. After eating tons of smoked, fatty fish (eel, yum). Boy, did I beat the Olympic record in sprint. The whole 5 feet of me.

        • Linda1000

Don’t forget the wood burning sauna with rocks so you can roll in the snow after good loyly skin sweating and smacking with the vihta birch branches which smell really good.

          • Raymond Hietapakka

            …heuva, boyka…

          • Maggat

Almost the same story of my dear departed mother-in-law’s family. Tough going, I wouldn’t want to go though all the hard times she and her family went through to get to Canada, live and contribute to the welfare of the country. Never whined, bitched or cried about how tough it was.
Where are we now? That asshole PM is going to take our tax dollars and build housing for the next wave of virtually useless ungrateful scourge of newcomers. Now the Indians want designer houses?
            Know what? I’m pissed off.

      • Dana Garcia

We always thought the original owner just wanted to feel close to the outdoors.

  • Hard Little Machine

Similar to the complaints leveled against Israel more than a decade ago when they were giving, free and clear, giving homes to Arabs and the PLO screamed and whined that the Jews don’t understand the unique culture of the ‘palestinians’ which necessitated giving them massive homes that could house up to 30 people. Sure let them build their own shit. Maybe they come up with a better Yurt.

    • Raymond Hietapakka

…give them a Coleman 2-man tent and a polyester carpet for their 4 wives and 40 kids…more than they deserve…

  • Raymond Hietapakka

..one of my favorite comments, after being a forest-type since my CITY-TV debacle days in ’87…”you’re thinking like a white man”…

    • Raymond Hietapakka

….only a dumbass city whitey would shovel a 100 yard path thru the snow to his back door, rather than simply packing down a snowshoe trail…

    • Maggat

      -nuff to gag a maggot.

    • Watchman

“Indigenous women and girls are suffering violence,” Buller said. “That somehow has become normalized, and that is a national tragedy.”
If the indigenous community was held to the same standards as white people, then much of the problem would disappear; not entirely because the problem still exists in the majority Canadian population, but it would improve.

Here we have a ‘bigotry of low expectations’ together with abusers hiding behind indigenous law and culture to continue their abuse.

  • ontario john

Yes, but the important questions are, where do they put the rusted out cars, and is there a liquor store nearby. Meanwhile the first report of the never ending money pit, called the missing indian inquiry came out. So far the conclusions are white people are racist bastards, and we need more money and time for the inquiry. I guess 54 million dollars wasn’t enough.

    • Raymond Hietapakka

…like a young local “boggan” replied…”That’s just the down payment,” Please don’t ban me, Mr.DisqusGod, for I bend and spread for thee…

    • mobuyus

The conclusions of the grand inquiry are that white people are racist bastards and the missing and murdered women are being killed by their brothers uncles and cousins.

      • Raymond Hietapakka

        Yup.

  • Is there really no-one in that community of 350 who could fix that woman’s chimney so she could light a fire? Or nail bits of wood over the holes in her walls? I thought you had to be independent and capable to live out in the wilds. Are they all on welfare?

    • Surele Surele

That was my very first thought. Why nobody bothers to clean up, fix, repair? God knows, they do get the funds.

  • Surele Surele

Photo no 5 says it all. nobody cares to clean up.

  • Jaedo Drax

so oddly they can afford video games, but can’t fix their homes?

    • Watchman

If you live off welfare, your parents live off welfare then you rationally choose not to exert yourself since you are going to get by on the welfare. The welfare encourages inaction, but it also encourages anger and hatred of normal Canadian society. If everyone around you is unemployed and lives off welfare, then you tend to project this attitude on to everyone else and assume the white population of Canada is mostly like yourselves but are given jobs and houses and other material assets because to a large extent that’s how you live.

Playing computer games is both to while away the time, but it is one of the few ways competitive urges of young men are partially satisfied.

  • Maggat

“not suitable for people who are meant to live off the land.”?

My heart pumps pure piss for them.

  • DaninVan

OK; let’s get real here. In the first place most band members don’t own their own homes; they live in accommodations paid for and supposedly maintained by the band. Past threads have dealt with the graft and corruption endemic to the economic model that most bands are forced to work under. That’s on us. We designed it and forced it on them in years past. Some bands (especially here in BC) have broken free and are self governed; and it’s about f’ing time.
It’s my understanding that the occupants aren’t allowed to work on their homes as they aren’t really “their” own homes. If you have your own business, how many First Nations individuals do you have on your payroll? I’m not pointing fingers, I’m just saying that it isn’t easy to overcome workplace prejudices. In addition there aren’t a lot of good paying jobs in the middle of nowhere., but that’s where they have lived and still do live.
I’d like to see them give this design idea a chance. I’m just so sick of hearing about whole native families wiped out in reservation house fires due to really really crappy construction and no maintenance.

  • Raymond Hietapakka

    I can’t comment anymore…Facebook doesn’t like what I have to say…

  • lolwut? (Deplorable Hoser)

The power likely went out because they didn’t pay the bills
and the mold in a lot of these places is because they haul
animals they hunted into the house to clean.

Not unsual to see houses on northern reserves with entire walls removed
so they can park their ATV in the living room and then they cry
that it’s cold in the winter.

I remember a story years ago in the news of a guy on a reserve
complaining about the rot and cold but he couldn’t figure out
that the hole he cut in his bathroom to the outside so his horse
could drink from the bathtub was a bad idea.

they will need quik-connekts on all the plumbing and easy bolts on the fixtures so stripping them out isn’t too much of a chore, no pex please its worth fuck all at the recycler. all siding should be 2″ well seasoned rough planks to save on firewood.
