A Toronto imam was accused of hate-preaching against Jews. But that wasn’t the whole story

Ayman Elkasrawy got the phone call late on a Sunday night in February. An incredulous friend was on the line, with a strange and troubling question.

“Did you pray for the killing of the Jews?”

The friend sent him an online article about Masjid Toronto, the downtown mosque where Elkasrawy worked as an assistant imam. It included a video: rows of Muslim worshippers standing under fluorescent lights, their eyes closed and hands cupped. At the front of the crowded room was Elkasrawy, dressed in white and praying to God in Arabic.

“O Allah! Count their number; slay them one by one and spare not one of them,” read the article’s translation of his prayers. “O Allah! Purify Al-Aqsa mosque from the filth of the Jews!”

Looks like we’re going to need a category for Plausible Denial – and it only took 8 months to come up with this version of events.

So the Toronto Star claims that he was misunderstood when he ranted, death to the filthy Jews. This coming weekend’s edition will have the story, “Was Hitler Misunderstood by the Jews?”

    • Way too much debate about a clear fact.

Islamic theology incites Muslims to hate and murder Jews and other non-Muslims.

Nothing will change until this fact is dealt with.

Sahih Bukhari (52:177) – Allah’s Apostle said, “O Muslim! There is a Jew hiding behind me, so kill him.”
Quran (2:191-193) – “And kill them wherever you find them”.

This is a steaming pile. First he was mistranslated and he was naive. And then the first people saying he was wrong were Muslims. What were they saying was wrong if it wasn’t wrong? Presumably these Muslims didn’t need translation. The writer really threw in everything to whitewash Muslim Jew hatred.

It’s sickening the degree that Star went to cover up for this guy and make him out to be the victim.

For a long time the editor of the Toronto Star was a muzzie, so no surprise. Haroon the Loon is gone now, I don’t know what happened to him.

I don’t find the claim odd that most Muslims don’t read Arabic and as such pray from rote – it’s the same in Judaism where many Jews don’t read Hebrew or can read the letters but don’t understand the words and rely on the English translation on the opposite page – Hebrew prayer books are usually one page Hebrew and the opposing page English translation except for the Orthodox and the Torah/Talmud/Commentaries.

The issue is the excuse/cover up for the offensive passages and offensive prayers – which Anti-Semites have used over the years as a license for persecution and vilification. It’s the same in the history of Medieval Christianity with the Gospel of Matthew where Jews were damned for “Killing Christ” and the locals who couldn’t read the Latin were incited to persecution/violence by the Priest who acted as their interpreter and it seems it’s the same in the Mosque.

Except this is the 21st Century there’s no excuse… especially for a professor of Engineering.

I am sure the Star would be highlighting an expose and not making excuses for Jews had the situation been reversed.

Always enjoy your well thought through comments, Marty.
Often forgotten is the issue of regional dialects, and how they really screw up translations. There’s better than even odds that Elkasrawy didn’t understand the implications of this very old Arabic dialect, and it would appear that he’s bent over backwards to try and understand what he did that was offensive.
The political side of the Al Aqsa issue is another matter.

They claim that the Arabic was not translated properly and that he didn’t say “filth of the Jews” but rather the “desecration” of Jews. The FACT is this is a standard hadith and a Imam in California used the
EXACT phrase as this Imam so I doubt very much he was mistranslated.

Here is link to the California story. Memri is an Arabic website so I am pretty sure they can translate Arabic.

I find it totally bizarre and unbelievable that muslims all over the world stick their ass in the air five times a day and recite main prayers in Arabic calling for Jews to be killed and these same muslims don’t speak, write or understand a word of Arabic, unless they are Arabs. Even the most “secular” or moderate of muslims in Canada that I have encountered from the Ismaili sect do not like Jews and recite these main prayers without questioning what they are actually saying. This is typical of cult brainwashing IMHO.

The Muslim invasion of the West will not end without much more bloodshed. Islam controls the tactical agenda not us. The problem with the West is that it can’t bring itself to the point of naming the enemy because that is ‘racist’ and ‘not all Muslims are bad’. The truth is that many people in the West, especially those with political influence are to blame for the existing situation because due to their influence and the MSM complicity, Ignorance, Arrogance and Fear have all been masquerading as ‘open mindedness’. The Visegrad group of countries and Israel are among the few national entities that recognize the problem and are willing to act on what they see.

What I found particularly stomach-churning was the ‘good Jew’/’bad Jew’ dynamic painstakingly elucidated by the writer.

This piece did not get written overnight. It took a fair amount of research. So who is Jennifer Yang, the “Identity and Inequality” reporter and when did she get the assignment?

As a Jew I am more concerned that the idiot Bernie Farber keeps assuming he’s the spokesperson for the Jewish community.

Sounds like Canada needs to import some more of these pious m00slime fanatics. The jewish bolsheviks have been begging for these lunatics. Hopefully they go full gaga snackbar on them
