New Details Emerge About Attack That Killed US Soldiers in Niger

New details are emerging about the attack that left four U.S. soldiers dead in Niger as U.S. congressional leaders are demanding answers from the Pentagon.

The four U.S. service members, three of whom were Green Berets (special forces), along with four Nigerian soldiers were killed on October 4 in an ambush in Tongo-Tongo, a village near the border with Mali.

WTF is the US doing in Niger? I was hoping Trump was going to put a stop to all these International orphan-saving adventures.

Ask Obama – he sent them there.

Berets are stupid looking hats at the best of times, but Americans really need to learn how to wear berets.

I like the beret: I wore it for years. I prefer it over stupid forage hats. Only Canadians and Brits know how to wear them..THEY GOTTA BE SHRUNK!
Don’t wear them like the faggoty French.

I wore one for years too. They might not be bad to wear in garrison but they serve no useful purpose at all in the field, where we also wore them. They don’t keep you warm, they don’t keep the sun or rain off your head and they don’t provide a sun visor. The first military troops to wear berets where the British tankers in WW1. When they first became an organized unit they needed a uniform and a hat. Someone thought a French school girl hat, which is what they were at the time was a good idea because they would work within the confines of an armoured vehicle. The Royal Tank Regiment made the black beret their unit hat and it is now the height of military fashion the world over. At least most troops don’t wear them in the field anymore.

The bare bones released so far point towards a classic “ambush of the GB ambushers” via double agent misinformation and decoy actions.
