Parents of ‘Jihadi Jack’ begin hunger strike over the government’s ‘inaction’ to help their Muslim-convert son, 21

Mom’s so proud.

The parents of the Muslim convert known as ‘Jihadi Jack’ say they are embarking on a hunger strike in protest of the government’s inaction to help their 21-year-old son.

John Letts, 56, and Sally Lane, 54, began their week-long fast on the steps of St Paul’s Cathedral in central London at 1pm on Thursday.

They say it is a demonstration against parliament’s failure to help bring their son home.

Uhhh…… methinks the dopey parents’ protest should be in front of a really big mosque in London.

Taking the most positive pov I can think of, why do they think J.J. would want anything to do with them, other than paying for his defence lawyer?
Turn him over to Assad’s people, or the Kurds. This isn’t ANY of Britain’s concern. All the crimes he’s committed were against foreigners on foreign soil.
You don’t get to decide under whose rule of law you’ll be tried.

I stand corrected, the Kurds DO have him. His ass is grass.

Hopefully they off his sorry ass and send him back in a pine box.

I wish them complete lack of success, even better they could just toddle of to where ever their darling son is hiding, have a joyful reunion and then bloody well stay there.

I hope you starve. Penance for breeding a f*cktard for a son.

A pity, a simple drone strike would have solved the problem of him continue to in Syria and would have provided closure to his parents. I can understand the love of his parents in wanting to have him home – to them he will always be the cute two year old who loved his parents – any parent can sympathise with such emotions.

But then I saw that his mother has a different surname to John Letts (‘Jihadi Jack’) and her husband. “Letts was born in Oxford to non-Muslim parents John Letts and Sally Lane. He attended Cherwell School, and converted to Islam as a teenager. He attended local mosques and learned Arabic in order to read the Koran. His parents were not opposed to his conversion. (Wikipedia)

What sort of parents allow a child to freely join a religion inimical to Western Civilization, especially as 9/11 occurred when ‘Jack’ was five or six years old? My guess is that they themselves thought the West deserved the attacks and felt the lure of intersectionality of their beliefs with islam.

His mother: “He has had no access to family, to welfare visits from the Red Cross or any other organisation, nor consular assistance, in a clear breach of the Geneva Convention.” Wow, just like every ISIS prisoner, ever. ISIS don’t respect the Geneva Convention and probably qualify as ‘illegal combatants’ and not protected by the Geneva Convention nor qualify under the protections as a Prisoner of War if captured. You should not be forced to fight a war when the enemy abides by no rules, yet you are expected to fight according to all the rules of war.

At a cathedral – why not a mosque. I suppose they blame “evil Christians” for not helping their little sack of shit of a son.

Talk about a state of denial. These parents should be kicked in the arse.

I would think a small, gas fired BBQ upwind of the parents and cooking great pork and wonderful burgers would be a start.

      No beer? Sacrilege!

Why stop at a week? Why not go for as long as you can? Think of it as a game where each of you tries to out do the other. You can do it!

It make a great reality show.

Now, I like that kind of forward thinking!

Who cares? If his parents are so concerned about about their baby boy then they can damn well go out there and look after him. Good riddance to the lot of them.
