FBI Investigates Puerto Rican Officials Distributing FEMA Aid Based On ‘Loyalty’

The FBI San Juan Field Office announced Oct. 13 it had received “numerous” complaints that FEMA aid packages were mishandled and fraudulently distributed. The agency is investigating charges in six of the island’s 78 municipalities.

One complaint alleged a party official filled his personal vehicle with supplies at a government building, then drove away, according to the letter.

Does anyone want to play ‘Guess the Political Party Involved’..

They don’t have the same parties we do here in the U.S.

A rose by any other name is still a liberal/socialist/democrat.

They are all socialists down there.
Conservative political parties only really exist in the English speaking world, and even then, there are no real right-wing parties around.
Maybe AfD or Golden Dawn outside of the Anglosphere, maybe not.

Puerto Rico is a third world country, populated by third world people with third world attitudes and tribalism and is not part of the U.S., and likely never will be.

Even though it seems well aligned to current Californian culture, ideologies and ethics?

Actually, I believe them to be way worse.
I say they are akin to Central America or Mexico levels of messed up.

You’re right but I think over time, the US is becoming more like PR, rather than PR becoming more like the US.

No, all jokes aside, you still cannot bribe your way past a restaurant inspection or a driver’s license, or slide a $20 bill to the girl behind the counter at the water company to have your bill “adjusted”.
You can do all of that and worse in virtually every Hispanic country because they are all so corrupt, which is why they are poor, and will always be poor, even if you turn them into an armed camp like Cuba or Venezuela.

If all the crooks in the PR government were compelled to stop stealing certain categories of government stuff, this strange new requirement could cause massive confusion. The hugely corrupt crowd around the mayor of SJ would likely suffer even more severe mental trauma .

Sounds like the people need to bring back hanging for officials hoarding supplies for themselves and their friends.
