I wasn’t a fan of the Tragically Hip, or the “tragically overrated” as they are referred to in my house, but that is really a shitty way to go.

I was a fan of the Hip in a listen to them on the radio kind of way.

Even if you’re not a fan this guy went out like a champ. RIP

I was never a fan of “the Hip” but I am sad to hear of his passing. My mother died of brain cancer also. Terrible disease

    • I am sory to hear that. I was not a huge fan either, but the Hip were ok in small doses.

    • The Buddhist Butterfly

I was never a big fan either, but everyone on the radio is crying.

Cancer takes another victim. The residents of Heaven are now enjoying being entertained with his music.

  • The Buddhist Butterfly

I just clinched my celebrity death pool.

    RIP Mr. Downie.

I used to be a fan, starting at their second album but I gave up on them at Day For Night.

When I heard about Downie’s illness I loaded all my CD’s onto my phone and gave them a listen – that’s when I realized why I gave up on them: all the songs sound the same.

That said, I’ve always been fond of that

    Jacques Cartier,
    right this way,
<i.I'll put your coat up on the bed,
Hey man you’ve got a real bum’s eye for clothes

Sad, about Downie. But Trudeau is in full drama teacher mode here. “We’re less as a country” come on…

    • What a total Film Actors Guild.

      come on…

Listening to the CTV and CBC I thought the second coming had come and gone and I had missed it. Sad, about Downie, but I always thought the Hip were second rate at their best.
