Three times as many Academy Award winners thanked Weinstein as thanked God

From Christine Rousselle at Townhall:

Well here’s a rather telling fact about Hollywood, courtesy of CNN’s religion editor Daniel Burke. Over the last 20 years, 30 Academy Award winners have explicitly thanked Harvey Weinstein during their speeches. During that same period, a mere seven thanked God.More.

Reality check: That shows that the winners have their own priorities right. They want what Weinstein can do for them far more than they want what God can do for them.

But what about the people who are disturbed by the predation but choose to listen to the unhinged moralistic rants as if they were more significant than jailhouse rap? Never mind what’s the matter with Hollywood. What’s the matter withthe audience.

Publicly thanking a known sex offender is less hazardous to your career than acknowledging your own Christianity in Hollywood.
Think about that for a second.
Now you know why I bit-torrent all entertainment.

BTW, Meryl Streep called Harvey Weinstein God.

The difference of course is that God doesn’t think he’s Harvey Weinstein.

The only people I know who throw Oscar parties are women. Just sayin’.

These women used Harvey Weinstein every bit as much as he used them. The difference is that for every Harvey Weinstein, there are about 10,000 women who are also willing to play the game. (This is also an alternate proof for why women shouldn’t be allowed to vote.)

Every so often someone big in a corrupt cult has to be thrown to the wolves so the others can all disavow that person and project all their own vile attributes on to him. This needs to be done in order that the cult can carry on – the show must go on – as they say. So all the vileness of Hollywood now falls upon Weinstein, and the rest of the cannibals can now pretend everything will be ok.
Not that I’m feeling sorry for Weinstein; he spent years making himself the target for this sort of thing while never thinking he would be underbussed so ignominiously.
But this changes nothing and nothing will really change in that cesspit called Hollywood. The powerful will continue to abuse the supplicants and the rest of them will continue to look the other way. Party on, Hollywood, as long as the millions of fools out there continue to pay for your excesses.
