Random violent diversity in Calgary

20-year-old man charged in connection to random Calgary stabbing of woman and child

“I see an engineer, a doctor, an astronaut…”

That’s funny, I just see a knife wielding psychotic motivated by religious and racial hatred.

    • Maurice Miner

Well, I don’t see how you can read that into John Garang Luka Yag’s alleged motivation.

There is no evidence that he doesn’t come from a long line of Canadian-born professionals, there is no evidence of his religious philosophy, and there is no evidence that the woman and her six year old son he stabbed repeatedly were of a different race to John Garang Luka Yag.

Jumping to conclusions such as yours is typical raaacist stereotyping.

No wonder the comments were closed.

Recent events all over the western world back up DbN’s assumptions. This isn’t a court of law and commenters are free to use whatever standard of evidence they please. If they’re wrong, well they have egg on their face. No biggie.

        Jesus H. Christ.

Spelling out the perp’s name twice, using the word “raaacist”, I really don’t know what more I could do to indicate sarcasm.

I do not do the “/s” tag, as I consider it an insult to a reader’s intelligence – until now that is. However, lesson sadly learnt, and I shall henceforth use the “/s” tag…

          Good move, Einstein.

You know which way the wind’s blowing when they slam the door shut, eh?

Re M.M.’s comment; OK, fair enough, obviously a practising Buddhist, but aside from that, the media is unclear on the concept of “random” as it applies to attacks on white women by black men.
That’s what’s commonly referred to as a ‘target of opportunity’. If it hadn’t been this woman and child it would have been someone else.

      • DaninVan

In retrospect, I didn’t explain myself clearly.
The neighbours were with the woman and her son prior to the media arriving. They were there when the suspect showed up. So why all the missing info that you, M.M., quite rightly point out as unmentioned?
Did the reporter not ask? Did the production people cut those portions?
In light of what the article DID say It’s either incredible reporting incompetence, or political correctness gone mad.
