Trudeau’s tax hounds salivate over discounted hot dogs

Who would have thought retail sales clerks, hardly perceived as at the top of the financial food chain, were such tax-evading scofflaws that the Trudeau Liberals would be unleashing the taxman on them?

But they are.

      I’m still chuckling.

  • Its a sure sign that its a really cold day, if you ever see a politician with his hands in his OWN pockets.

JT is becoming quite the middle class destroyer.

He did say he would help the middle class… but we now understand that means eliminating it.

  • Remember – he couldn’t (or wouldn’t) define the middle-class before the election.

    Voters are stupid.

That border on the 49th parallel is porous in both directions, isn’t it?

  • Tooth&Claw

Justin doesn’t understand much. Those salesclerks usually can’t afford what they sell, so it’s a benefit to the company to dress them (at a discount) in a style that others aspire to and who can afford it. It’s called advertising.

Actually, they are often REQUIRED to wear the shop’s gear. And the income tax rules are such that they are not allowed to claim the cost of same as an employee expense.

    “Kill the Kulaks!”
This kind of regressive taxation is a really bad sign.
It means that they are unwilling or unable to make ANY spending cuts because the politicians are all bought off, and the state has no other efficient means of taxation.

      OK.

If every Canadian is to be taxed on the discount from benefits received from an employer, does that mean Justin Trudeau gets to pay tax on the value of the last holiday he spent with his family on Aga Khan’s private island in the Bahamas and the helicopter rides to get there?

    • Frances

Not to mention the deal so many get by lunching in the Parliamentary restaurant. Would love to see the value of THAT added back into MP’s T4’s as a taxable benefit.

  • Clausewitz

Does this mean he’ll be taxing his caucus on the entitlements they’re entitled too? What am I saying, of course not. Momentary lapse of reason, sorry.

    • Editor

You answer your own question. They’re entitled to their entitlements, unlike those tax dodging minimum wage plebes.

It is not every day that a Canadian— gets to watch their so called Prime Minister—

Some times it is nice to be nice—but you have to know How.
AND you have to fucking feel like being nice.
But– If you you don’t feel like being fucking nice and you never learned how to be nice and you don’t feel nice because you don’t fucking like the people that you are you are supposed to be nice too— Then what is the fucking point of being NICE?

  • Shebel

Hey Justin—- When some mindless morons paid you $10,000 to spout your Idiocy– Did you do like a contractor and charge HST and then declare it as income ? – Or did you stick it in your trust fund. ?

  • Sharkibark

Way to roll back that $15/hr minimum wage. Also – did you know that when you go to your local big box store, the employee has more than likely paid out of his own pocket for that logo’d shirt they’re wearing? And no, it’s not tax deductible.
